For many people, summer means pool time, sports, and getaways—but that’s only part of the magic. The sun we saw reborn at the Winter Solstice is at its full strength. The days are longer, and nature is thriving. The energy at this point in the Wheel of the Year is undeniable.

Litha: The Summer Solstice
The summer solstice is a very recognizable and pivotal point in the Wheel of the Year. From this point forward, the days will slowly begin to become shorter. For now, however, we take great joy in the sun’s fullness!

Lughnasadh (Lammas): The First Harvest
With the heat of the sun in full-force, many of us aren’t even thinking about a harvest at this time, as modern traditions assign that celebration to October or November. For Wiccans and Pagans, the harvest season starts on August first in the northern hemisphere with the Sabbat of Lughnasadh.
