Are you ready for bedtime?

That's okay if you're not quite there yet.

Sometimes it takes me a little while too.

How about we relax a bit together?

Let's take some time to settle in and see if that makes getting ready for sleep easier.

Get everything you need for a nice long sleep.

Take a look around you.

If there's anything you've forgotten,

Pause this now and go get it.

Don't forget to come right back.

Get all comfy in your bed.

Let all of your air out with a nice big sigh.

Stretch your body however it's asking to be stretched.

Now tell your body it's time to get ready for rest.

All you need to do is listen to my voice.

We are going to imagine something together.

Think about a beautiful warm sunny day outside.

There is a slight breeze blowing across your cheeks.

What do you smell?

Flowers?

Soil?

The sky is blue with some puffy white clouds floating about.

You look around you and you see some strong tall trees with big limbs and lots of shade.

You walk over to one and look up.

You see a maze of limbs and branches,

A perfect place to spend some time and explore on such a gorgeous day.

You reach out a hand to feel the tree's sturdy rough trunk.

The bark has so many bumps.

As you feel along the trunk,

You notice that there are perfect places for putting your hands and feet to climb.

Taking your time,

You put one hand in front of the other and then you lift a foot off the ground.

Bit by bit,

You climb the trunk of the tree.

One hand,

Other hand,

One foot,

Other foot.

You don't need to go very far off the ground before you notice a gigantic cozy looking nest on a nearby limb.

It's big enough for you to climb into.

The nest has plenty of soft fluffy feathers to make it comfortable.

You sit in the middle of the nest,

Feeling the breeze tickle your cheeks.

You pick up one of the feathers from the nest.

It has the most beautiful colors.

What colors do you see?

Whatever you see is absolutely okay.

You think of one thought from your day that you'd like to let go of and with the feather you drop it off the edge of the nest,

Letting it float down to the ground.

Each time a busy thought pops into your mind,

You let it float down to the ground with a feather.

You might think of times you were playing and times you were growing.

Times you didn't quite know how to do something and times you did.

Whatever comes to mind,

Let it go.

After all of your thoughts have floated away,

You still have plenty of soft feathers to cuddle in.

You snuggle up and you see yourself back in your bed.

You are all set for a restful sleep.

You are worthy.

You are strong.

You are loved.

Rest well,

Sweet one.
