Not who is wrong.
Just one question:

Is it working?

It's time to ask that of every system in place. It's not about judgement. It's about evidence.

Look closer with L. Hernandez. Episode number three. Is it working? We humans have a habit of asking the wrong questions. Who is right? Who is wrong? Whose fault is it? Who should be blamed? Meanwhile. . . Reality sits quietly in the corner, Waiting to be noticed. A completely different question cuts through all of it. Is it working? Not in theory. Not on paper. Not according to tradition. Not according to what we've always done. In reality. Is it working? A relationship can be full of explanations. A workplace can be full of explanations. A health care system. Can be full of explanation. Explanations are easy. Results are harder. People often defend things that clearly aren't working because they've become attached to the explanation. The explanation becomes more important than the outcome. The story becomes more important than reality. At some point. Every system deserves the same question. A relationship. A parroting strategy. And education system. A belief. Even the story you tell yourself about yourself. Is it working? The question is deceptively simple. Because it does not care about intention. It cares about outcome. It does not care how passionately something is defended. It cares about what happens when it meets reality. Progress often begins with a willingness to stop defending and start observing. To stop arguing and start noticing. To stop explaining. And start looking. Is it working? Look closer.
