Welcome to the breathing relaxation audio.
Find somewhere to sit,
Stand or lie down where you feel comfortable and close your eyes if you'd like to.
Start to breathe slowly and deeply in a calm and effortless way.
Starting with your feet,
Feel each part of your body relaxing,
The tension seeping out as you work your way up to your face and head.
As you focus on each area,
Notice how warm and heavy your body feels.
Push any distracting thoughts to the back of your mind and imagine them floating in the air.
Inhale slowly and deeply,
Filling your chest with air,
Slowly counting 4 seconds to yourself.
Imagine your chest slowly filling with air from your diaphragm to your collarbone.
Then try and hold your breath for another 4 seconds or less if this feels uncomfortable.
Finally gently exhale letting your breath slide out slowly all the way down to the lowest part of the lungs.
Keep repeating until you feel more relaxed.
Keep your eyes closed and imagine that you are holding a big balloon on your chest.
As you breathe in,
Feel the balloon gently rising up in the air.
Imagine you are being gently lifted by the balloon into the sky.
The body feels light and weightless,
As free as a bird.
Each time you breathe gently in and out,
You rise higher into the sky until you are ready to gently sail back to earth.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
