Welcome to Driftweaver,
Where we guide you on a short,
Wonderful and relaxing journey.
A trip where we supply the science and you build its world around you.
So sit back and relax.
Take a few deep breaths and let your mind and body drift.
You are nearly there now.
Just a few more minutes and your long journey will soon be over.
You had booked a weekend retreat with some friends at a large wood cabin in the mountains.
As you park the car and get out,
A brief silence descends upon your group.
As you are taken back by the pure natural beauty of the vast panoramic views that are on offer.
Miles upon miles of untouched wild course land,
Blending into forests and rivers,
While sweeping gently down to the sea,
To a beach that stretches far out into the horizon.
It is perhaps even more impressive as you have arrived just as the sun was setting for the day,
Bathing the mountains,
The cabin and your group with its warm glow.
While spreading its dying embers out across the sea before finally disappearing beneath the water.
After unpacking and freshening up,
You head to the large open plant living space at the centre of the cabin.
As your eyes take in the room,
You decide that it is even more beautiful than the pictures.
You appreciate the rustic and honest attention to detail,
From the huge fireplace to the high pitched ceiling,
To the creaky worn floorboards and the tartan patterned accents.
You could happily live here you think,
But for now a weekend will just have to do.
There's an old record player by the bookcase.
You flick through the dusted vinyl and select a random one from the small collection and put it on.
Some of the group are preparing the dinner and setting the table.
You decide to light the fire before the chill of the night settles in.
Soon the heat from the fire fills the room and the glow of its flickering flames licks the high ceiling.
The smell of the aged oak firewood makes you feel nostalgic and comfortable and goes perfectly with the glass ceiling.
The smell of the aged oak firewood makes you feel nostalgic and comfortable and goes perfectly with the glass of red wine you're holding in your hand.
You stand in front of the fire and as you sway gently to its heat and the music you feel a rush of fuzzy contentment.
A rush of fuzzy contentment wash over you making you a little lightheaded even.
After dinner you decide to go to bed.
It has been a long day and it's late and you are tired.
You close the window that you had left open earlier to freshen the room and quickly slip under the heavy blankets.
You close the window that you had left open earlier to freshen the room and quickly slip under the heavy blankets.
You wake up suddenly.
The house is quiet and the night is still outside.
It must be early you think as you reach for your phone.
5.
20 it reached through your heavy still tired eyes.
You wonder why you woke up so early and just then you think you have your answer.
You hear it again.
The distant but audible sounds of a horse outside somewhere.
You try to ignore it but it is no use.
You are too intrigued and too much awake now.
You get out from under your blankets and put your clothes on but grab a thicker jumper as there is still a chill in the air.
As you descend slowly down the creaky stairs as to not wake up any of the others.
You notice the dying embers of last night's fire while the oak smell still hangs thick in the air.
You make yourself a coffee and grab an apple from the bowl before heading outside.
You hear the horse again so you head towards the stables that are behind the cabin.
And there he is,
Beautiful,
Powerful and majestic.
It is almost like he has been waiting for you,
Calling you in fact.
You both look at each other as the strange somewhat familiar feeling washes over you.
The horse is tall and brown with just a flick of white between the eyes.
He stares at you intensely while you're breathing calmly and knowingly.
As you move nearer you feel his breath warm your face while you stroke his soft mouth.
You reach into your pocket and give the apple to him.
His ears are pointing forward as he gently kicks at the door grunting softly.
He wants sight,
He wants to be with you.
You open his door and he calmly walks out and stands beside you.
You are impressed by his size and physique.
You grab the saddle on the table beside the door and place it on his back.
Tightening the straps you can almost feel the raw energy and power coursing through you.
You enter into his ears,
You grip onto the saddle and throw your leg up and over his muscly back.
You instantly feel alive and electric like you have just plugged into his power.
You slowly out at the stables and down the lane and turn off onto one of the many soft forest paths.
For a while you come out of the forest and cross over a small stream and onto the vast coarse valley.
You pause for a moment as you both gaze at the sweeping beach further down the mountain.
Just to run you can feel it and you want to run with him.
So you whisper once more into his ear as you give him a gentle kick with your heels.
His speed is immense,
It is almost like you are flying down the mountainside.
Your hair is blowing widely in the wind and all you can hear now is the rapid thumps of his hooves.
As they beat the ground and lighter still the beats of your own heart as they pound through your chest.
It is almost as if the rest of the world has stood still and it is only you and him that move through it.
You reach the golden sand of the long beach where you lead him into the sea to cross.
He goes deeper still to his neck.
Your clothes are soaked but you feel so alive and free that you barely even notice.
As you both ride back onto the beach you notice the creeping fingers of the new day reaching around the mountain.
With the stars still sparkling in the early light you turn to go back to the cabin.
The birds song as light an eye as nature awakens from its slumber.
You put him back into the stable.
The water from the swim is now a rising otherworldly mist around his body.
He seems quieter now,
Content,
Satisfied even.
You slip back into the cabin and up to your room.
As you change out of your wet clothes you flop back down on top of your bed and drift off back to sleep from one dream and into another.
You switch off you resquaseless convalescent
