Hello,
Hello,
My friends.
My name is Diana.
I am a MindBodyConnection coach and a meditation teacher.
This short meditation is designed to quiet the mental chatter and connect with your body,
Creating a space for presence and openness.
By grounding yourself in sensation and allowing emotions to flow,
You will prepare your mind and body to access a more creative state.
So begin by finding a comfortable position.
You can sit,
Lie down,
Or even stand,
Whatever allows you to feel most at ease at this very moment.
Allow your body to settle,
Noticing the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
And let's start by bringing the attention to your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen.
The natural flow of breath.
The subtle sensation of air moving in and out of your nostrils.
There is no need to change your breath,
But simply observe it.
And allow it to become an anchor,
Grounding you in this present moment.
Let's shift our awareness to the sensations within your body.
And begin by noticing the sensations in your feet.
Perhaps you feel the weight of your feet.
The warmth or coolness of the air around them.
Or the gentle pressure of your socks or shoes.
Slowly move your awareness upwards,
Noticing the sensations in your legs.
Your lower legs,
Knees and thighs and glutes.
Feel the contact of your legs with a chair or the floor.
And the gentle flow of energy within your legs.
Continue to move your awareness upwards,
Noticing the sensations in your torso.
And also in all the parts of it.
Your pelvic area and lower belly.
Lower back,
Middle back and stomach.
Even the organs inside your belly.
Notice the sensations in your chest and upper back.
Shoulder blades and shoulders.
Feel your heart and the movement in your lungs.
Observe each sensation with curiosity and without judgment.
There is no need to analyze or interpret them.
So simply allow them to be present.
Rest your attention in your arms.
Upper arms,
Armpits,
Elbows and lower arms.
Both hands and all the fingers.
If you notice any areas of tension or tightness,
Simply acknowledge them and allow them to soften if they will.
Move your awareness to the throat and your neck.
Jaw and cheeks.
Nose and eyes.
Front.
Ears.
Mouth and even inside your mouth.
The point where your neck and head connect.
The whole scalp.
And even your hair.
Feel the gentle flow of energy through your body and the subtle movements and shifts that occur with each breath.
Allow your body to become a landscape of sensation.
A source of grounding and presence.
Let's gently expand our awareness to include the emotions,
Feelings and thoughts that are present in this moment.
Notice any emotions that are arising.
Perhaps a sense of anticipation,
Excitement or even a touch of nervousness.
Breathe.
And allow these emotions to be present without judgment or resistance.
And simply observe your emotions as passing waves,
Acknowledging their presence without getting carried away.
Remember that it is safe for you to experience these emotions.
And they are the keys for you to understand yourself better and connect with yourself deeper.
Notice any feelings that are present in your body.
Any sensations.
Maybe it is a sense of warmth or coolness or tingling.
Allow anything that is to be present.
No judgment,
No resistance.
And if any of the thoughts arise or you find yourself distracted or carried away from the practice,
Simply bring your attention back to it,
To experiencing the sensations without forcing anything.
It is a natural process and all you have to do is just to redirect your attention again and again.
Notice any thoughts that are arising.
Maybe the thoughts about the upcoming creative exercise.
Or simply random thoughts that drift in and out of your awareness.
There is no need to think these thoughts,
To analyze them or understand them.
Simply allow them to be.
Allow your mind to become a quiet space,
Like a pond reflecting the present moment.
And again,
If you find yourself being caught up in the stories that your mind creates,
Simply bring back your awareness to observing your thoughts as individual clouds or leaves falling from a tree.
Allow your body,
Emotions,
Sensations and thoughts to be present.
Allow yourself to be present.
And breathe.
This quiet state,
This connection with your mind and your body is a powerful tool for accessing your creative potential.
Gently bring back your awareness to the room,
To the space where you're in.
Notice the sounds around you.
The feeling of air on your skin.
Add some movement into your body.
Whether moving gently or stretching a little bit.
Take a moment to appreciate this sense of presence and connection that you have cultivated.
And when you feel ready,
Take a slightly deeper breath and open your eyes.
Thank you so much for practicing today with me.
