I begin means jumping in.

Not contemplating,

Not hypothesizing,

Not weighing it.

It's about getting wet,

Submerged,

Muddy,

Getting it wrong,

Motion,

Action,

Setting the precedent,

The blistering effort to make something out of nothing,

New milestones,

New challenges,

Creating ripples,

The wake behind your boat,

Tracks,

The contrails,

Your evidence,

Your mark,

Your signature.

You begin.

You fire the starting gunshot.

You call the plays.

Run the command.

Set the coordinate.

Take control.

Use it like the rare entity that it is.

Take the clutch.

Put it into drive.

Do you procrastinate?

What is your fear?

What holds you back?

Is it the feeling you are not ready without the necessary tools,

Wanting the time?

Have you made time for it?

Is it high enough on your priority list?

What has knocked it down?

The need for quick cash?

The sacrifice for others?

The noise that rattles your mind?

Do you have to make it life or death?

How critical can you deem it?

How potent can you distill it down to?

This task,

This endeavor,

This thing that calls to you,

This item,

Has been neglected and ignored and told to wait.

It is tired of waiting.

It needs nourishment.

Needs momentum.

Needs a thrust.

Your readiness.

Jump in the skydive.

In the freedom from failure course.

Jump.

Even if you are vertigo.

Sickly scared of heights.

Swim with the sharks.

Run in the desert.

Strip off the comfort cocoon.

Stop letting your persona tell you who you are and what you can do.

Your will is the captain.

The general.

The sergeant.

The CEO.

I begin.

From thought to physical movement.

A kick.

A swing.

A pen or keystroke.

A document signed.

A letter written.

A decision made.

It is time to just do.

Beginning is where it is all at.

So much of the energy gets depleted before even setting one toe over the start line.

Deficient confirmation bias.

That voice in your head telling you how hard it will be.

How you will need a monolithic surge to get it done.

It's that protective ego.

It is vampiric.

It will use you.

It will show off for you.

It will seduce you and minimize you with artful comparisons.

Pleasing distractions that will leave you wanting more and left ultimately unfulfilled.

It knows perfectly well what it is doing.

Much more than you when you are caught sleeping and off your game.

Beginning requires basic necessities and hitting go.

Maybe just an address.

Or a laptop to work on.

Or simple running shoes.

Whatever it may be,

You will often need far less to start with than you think.

Getting that first bite into it will raise the endorphins and create the reconditioning cycle to get you into that proper mindset.

Completion is a whole other story and a great one to be told.

That sense of dutiful accountability to yourself.

Of finality.

Of ending a cycle.

Of seeing things to their conclusion.

Of working through all of the complications.

Of learning to organize your thoughts.

Of re-examining your process.

Of fine-tuning.

Of seeing how all of it is rinse and repeat.

Action.

Of reveling in the process.

This journey.

This trek.

The use of neurotransmitters.

Getting muscle memory to do its thing.

Bending and training your mind.

Able to sit with that accomplishment.

Knowing full well the next time around it will be plausible to embark again.

It's that rich inner,

Deep-seated confidence that money cannot buy.

That craftsperson.

Learning to be an expert.

On the road to mastery.

The mastery is all in the hiccups,

The trips,

And faceplants.

The do-overs.

The setbacks.

These are the unglorified components not many love to think about.

The wins and finishes are far and few in between.

Sandwiched within hours,

Days,

And months.

Basic applications.

Fundamentals.

The free-throw shot.

The data analysis.

The intake reports.

The bricklaying.

The vegetable chopping.

The memorizing of lines.

Whatever your trade.

Your art.

Your endeavor.

They are jam-packed with the basics.

Basic to the point of possible boredom.

To the point of meditative.

To the point where you must love the granular.

Love the details.

Love the redundant.

Love the predictable.

Love it all.

Not just the element of surprise,

But the procedural.

The routine.

The habitual.

Like a runner's high.

A flow state.

Finish what you begin.

To know that you are leveling up.

That you have a body of work.

A list of credentials.

A mass of anecdotes to tell.

To leave your mark.

Sign your feats with your name.

Your identity.

To add to the catalog of achievements.

Create results.

And you will better define your end point.

Results will point toward your future direction.

If you do not know where to start,

Then you must start.

You must start somewhere.

In order to course correct.

In order to see the greater picture.

In order to know what not to do or to do better.

Take the reins.

Take the risk.

Take control.

Take it now.

I begin.

I complete.
