Good afternoon,
Or good evening.
Please get comfortable in whatever position that will support your meditation today while still allowing you to stay alert and create a deep connection with yourself.
If you feel comfortable,
Close your eyes or you can have a soft gaze open.
I'm going to guide you through three deep breaths.
In from your nose and out through your mouth.
Are you ready?
One.
Take a deep breath in from your belly all the way to the top and then hold it.
Now breathe all the way out.
Two.
Breathe in until you can't get any more air into your body.
Hold it and breathe out.
Three.
Breathe in,
Hold it at the top,
And then take a long breath out until there is nothing left.
As you breathe normally now,
You might feel more relaxed and connected to the earth.
Please take one or both of your hands and place it on an area of your body that you think is carrying emotional pain,
Whether it has manifested in physical form or you just know there is a discomfort or a dis-ease in that space.
It could be your heart,
Your belly,
An internal organ.
It might be your back or your neck or your jaw.
Or maybe the pain is just everywhere.
Just place your hand somewhere that has been speaking to you through sensation.
And if you can't reach it,
Then bring your consciousness or your mind's eye to that area.
May you feel validated in the concepts you are about to hear.
Dear pain,
Let me feel you,
My dear pain.
Let me locate you in my body.
Let me come alongside you.
Let me look at you in your eyes.
Let me speak to you and ask you,
When did you come?
Why did you come?
Let me get to know you.
Let me inside.
I want to hear your voice.
Let me know how old you are.
Are you five?
Are you seven?
Are you nine?
Did you come when the earth seemed to suddenly break under my feet?
Did you decide it was your fault?
Did you decide you were alone?
Did you decide you weren't lovable?
Did you decide you weren't wanted?
Was it too hard to be angry at them so you became angry at yourself?
Did you contract and tighten?
Did you seize in fear?
Let me feel the heat of your anger.
Let me feel the swelling of the tears trapped in your skin.
Let me look deeply into your core so I can see and so I can know,
Is the pain I carry mine or is it someone else's?
Let me notice your color.
Let me notice your shape.
Let me hold you until you feel safe to release.
Let me listen to you.
Let me witness you.
Let me validate your emotions.
Let me meet every fiber with light.
Let me meet each tissue with love.
Let me talk to every cell.
Let me ask every cell for forgiveness.
I don't care how long it takes.
I will make time for you.
Let me tell you,
My darling,
You did everything right.
You did all you could to keep us safe,
Even when it meant the detriment of our health and well-being.
You took care of us.
You even found moments of happiness for us,
Even though you were so deeply hurting.
You pressed on and we developed a life,
Hoping that maybe you'd go unnoticed.
But hear me when I tell you,
You deserve ease,
Gentleness,
And kindness.
You deserve freedom from holding,
Holding it all together.
You are beautiful in every inch of your flesh.
You can trust me now.
Let me take care of you.
It's okay if you have moments when you hurt again.
I will be right here when you do,
Ready to meet you where you're at,
Ready to have this conversation with you all over again.
Let me feel the pain in my body,
Because when I do,
I am whole.
Now,
Take a deep breath full of love and light into your lungs.
And as you exhale,
Release all of that love and light out into the tissues and cells of your body that are ready to receive it.
