Was du lernen wirst
This course gives an introduction to the practice of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is a slow practice where postures are held passively for several minutes to stretch into the fascia and connective tissue. Throughout the course, we'll be exploring the many benefits that Yin Yoga brings us on every level, along with some philosophy and theory around the practice. In each session, we'll learn a new posture, and we'll put them all together at the end into a longer sequence. The course aims to equip you with the understanding of why to practice Yin Yoga and of what's happening in our bodies when we practice, as well as to introduce you to some of the postures, which you can then continue to work with into the future. You will need a Yoga mat, and you might find it helpful to have some other props too. Yoga blocks are great, but cushions or pillows can also be used, and blankets are always handy.

Jessica has been a student of Yoga since 2009 and has been teaching since 2012. Welcome
Welcome to the course! In this first session we'll go over some safety considerations to ensure that your practice is fully beneficial for you and so that you know how to avoid injury, and we'll make sure that you have everything you need prop-wise to continue with the course. And today's session ends with a meditation to tune into your body.

This session introduces the theory of Yin and Yang, and we'll look at some of the factors that make Yin Yoga Yin. We'll also explore the first principle of practicing Yin Yoga: finding your edge in the posture, which we'll practice in butterfly pose.
Lektion 3
The Connective Tissue
In session three, we'll take a look at the connective tissue: what it is, and how to safely stretch into it. We'll explore the second principle of holding the Yin Yoga postures: finding stillness in the pose, and we'll learn and practice caterpillar.

Lektion 6
Chi and Meridians: The Liver & Bladder
This session introduces the concept of chi and the meridian lines (energetic pathways), and we explore how our practice can encourage a smooth flow of chi through the meridians and a release of energetic blockages. We'll look in more detail at the liver and bladder meridians, and we'll learn and practice dragonfly pose.
Lektion 7
Chi and Meridians: The Spleen, Heart & Lung
We'll continue our exploration of the meridians in this session, looking at the spleen, heart and lung meridian lines, and the postures that benefit each of these. We'll also learn and practice child's pose.
Lektion 8
Yin Yoga As Meditation
Session eight explores how we can approach Yin Yoga as a meditation, and the benefits of practicing this way. We'll also learn and practice sphinx pose.

As we approach the end of the course, we'll take a look at some things to consider as you continue your practice into the future. We'll also go more deeply into savasana, your relaxation pose.

I really enjoyed the course. I have been struggeling with post covid and untill now did a lot of yoga nidras. Yin yoga was on the wish list, but video courses are a lot more difficult for me (more stimulus) and real life is not an option for me. So this was perfect. I will start practising with day 10 and hope you will record more yin yoga audios. Thank you!
