What Is Procrastination And How Can Mindfulness Help?
Today we’ll be curious about exploring what procrastination is and some misconceptions about it. We’ll explore the concept of mindfulness and the ways mindfulness can help you gain some freedom from the procrastination habit. You’ll engage in some simple mindfulness practices to begin to help you build your focus and awareness muscles. By doing this, you will be able to begin the process of stepping back and managing procrastination more mindfully.

Stopping The Procrastination Mind Battle
In our last session, I encouraged you to get curious about the concept of mindfulness and gave you some simple techniques to work with. Today we’ll be curious about exploring how procrastination shows up for you in your thoughts and emotions to gain a better perspective of what you’re experiencing and how you are relating to the procrastination. It is important to begin to have a clearer sense of what’s happening for you to be able to begin the process of gaining freedom from the procrastination habit.

Identifying What’s Really Important To You
In the last session, we explored thinking patterns and emotions related you the habit of procrastination. Today we’ll explore your core values. Instead of getting caught up in the thinking, feeling, behaviors, and urges to avoid or put off whatever it is we are procrastinating, we can make the shift to resolve to act in alignment with what we identify as important to us. Many times, procrastination is in direct opposition to what’s important to us.

Build Your Procrastination Management Plan
Now that you have some more awareness about what happens to you before and during the urge to procrastinate, we can dive a little deeper and explore the actual patterns of your procrastination habit. When you become aware of the actual patterns and resulting behaviors, you can develop a personalized plan to help you overcome the procrastination habit.

Making It All Stick
Yesterday, you began to explore your patterns, times of day, emotions, and thoughts and then developed the beginnings of a personalized plan for working with procrastination. In today’s session, we’ll review what you’ve learned in this course and explore ways to establish a successful rhythm with your action plan. We’ll use the power of your mind to help you visualize success!
