Over the next four days, this series is a little breakdown of my unique style of Yoga Nidra. I often hear questions like, “What exactly are you doing?” or “What is this all about?” There are so many elements to it, so I thought, why not break it down into bite-sized pieces? Each day, I’ll share a bit of insight, building up to a full Yoga Nidra experience at the end. Along the way, I'll share stories about my family and how we can invite them into our rest practice. This is about more than just resting ourselves; it’s about resting our whole family line. Each day, we'll journey to a different place that’s all connected, centered around my small town in Nova Scotia where my family originated. With each stop, there will be a short rest practice to deepen the connection. I’m excited to have you here with me on this journey of rest and connection. This course is designed to be a journey you can revisit as often as you need. Each time you return, you'll uncover new layers of rest, creativity, and connection. By repeating these practices, you create a habit of deep rest and intentional living, allowing the lessons to integrate more fully into your daily life. Day 1 - Just Be & Honouring The Land
Today, we’re starting our journey on a trail, grounding ourselves as we begin this restful exploration together. If possible, head outside—it truly transforms the experience. Once you’ve listened, go find a spot to lay down, bundle up if it’s chilly (I don’t want you freezing out there!). Close your eyes or soften your gaze, and start tuning into the world around you. Notice the sounds, feel the shifts in temperature, and sense the subtle vibrations of the earth beneath you. As you settle, take a moment to observe any changes in the environment since you arrived. Day 2 - Wisdom & Breathwork
Today, our trail leads us to my grandfather’s land, a place rich with family history. As we honor the wisdom of our ancestors, feel the grounding of this land beneath you, through a calming Breathwork practice. Day 3 - Intention & Body Sensing
Today, we’re connecting on my family’s Blueberry Farm, where generations have worked and rested. As we set meaningful intentions and tune into our bodies, through a gentle body sensing practice. As you tune into each part of your body, let your intention guide you, bringing awareness and presence to every sensation. Day 4 - The Full Daring Rest Yoga Nidra- Cleansing Your Chakras
We complete our journey at the beach where my mother grew up, coming full circle as we rest and cleanse, letting the waves carry away what no longer serves us. Today’s session, "Cleansing Your Chakras", is a full Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra that restores deeply, offering the rejuvenation of three hours of sleep in one practice. This Yoga Nidra Meditation is a sequel to my Insight Timer track, Yoga Nidra Sleep Meditation for Deep Healing & Empowerment, and and was created during a time of illness and burnout. Yoga Nidra not only helped me find renewal, but it also became a way to bring rest and healing to my entire family line.
