Practicing mindfulness can benefit us in many ways. Numerous studies show that mindfulness helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and rumination, increase positive states of mind, and improve quality of life. The objective of this course is to inspire, educate, and empower you to deepen your understanding of the how and why of evidence-based mindfulness. These seven lessons will teach you the core mindfulness practices that you can plant in your heart and seamlessly bring into the ordinary routines of your daily living. Simple, empowering, and sustainable. The seven lessons will give you: An understanding of what mindfulness is (and is not) and how it works with: • Clear guidance and instructions on how to practice mindfulness through meditation, and informally in your day-to-day life. • Practical techniques you can use at home on a regular basis. • Opportunities to explore how you can enhance your own self-care and resilience. This course is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those familiar with mindfulness and meditation. Students can also connect with others doing the course and ask questions in our dedicated Insight Timer classroom.

The Simple Art Of Mindful Living
Mindfulness is a kind of energy that we generate when we bring our mind back to our body and get in touch with what is going on in the present moment, within us and around us. We become aware of our breathing and come home to our body, fully present for ourselves and whatever we are doing. Ancient practise, modern evidence-based brain training, mirrored beautifully in the natural worlds around us. Balancing being with doing by learning to pause and notice.

Mindfulness Of Breath
Mindfulness is always mindfulness of something. A great way to being the energy of mindfulness, into our everyday experience is to begin with mindfulness of our breath. It is very simple, but very deep.
Lektion 3
Connecting With The Energy Of Mindfulness With Mindful Walking
Walking in meditation means to walk in such a way that we know we are walking. We become aware of the contact of our feet with the ground, and the flow of our breathing. We set ourselves free from our thinking—our regrets about the past, our fears and anxieties about the future, or our preoccupations in the present. We become 100% present with every step.

Sitting Meditation
There’s an art to sitting in such a way that we can feel relaxed, at peace and at ease. Sitting meditation is not hard labor. We don’t need to struggle or strive as we sit. We allow ourself to be completely at ease. Our daily life is so busy, and we need time to stop, sit down, and restore ourselves and the quality of our presence.

Eating Meditation
With the energy of mindfulness, even eating can become sacred. We have a chance to get into deep contact with the miracle of food, and the people surrounding us. Mindfulness allows us to look deeply to see the wonders of earth and sky in what we are eating and drinking. We can see the hard work and all the causes and conditions that have brought it to us in this moment, and gratitude and wonder naturally arise.

Resting
Many of us are over-scheduled. In 21st century living we re often unwittingly drawn into the cult of 'busy', which raises our stress levels and takes us away from our natural balance between being and doing. of When we can allow ourselves to rest and relax, healing becomes possible. There is no healing without relaxation.
Lektion 7
Balancing Being With Doing
A big challenge for us over busy 21st century human beings is noticing and unhooking from hustle culture. To do this we bring the energy of mindfulness into our ever day by balancing doing with times of being.

This mindful course was beautiful and so inspiring. Ilearned a great deal and have really talents heart the lessons I've learned about incorporating mindfulness into almost anything. The peaceful Irish lilt of the voice was soothing and comforting which helped so much in creating the space to be mindful.

I have been doing (try to do) mindfulness for many years but life has been somewhat overwhelming lately and I totally lost the ability to focus.
