Lektion 1
Our Innate Love & Courage
In this session, we’ll define what we mean by self-compassion and resilience and learn why it's important to regularly tune in to our needs. We’ll learn a simple way to do this and the story of The King Of The Birds will help us reflect on how we support ourselves. We’ll journal about what courage, good-heartedness, and wellbeing really mean for us as individuals. Journaling exercise starts at 7:09.
Lektion 2
Connecting With Our Compassionate Selves
Today, we’ll learn about why it’s important to keep filling “our own cup” and how it’s often our conditioning that makes us feel undeserving or unworthy to keep striving. We’ll rest and replenish the nervous system and give our bodies an oxytocin boost through the meditation practices of caring touch and nourishing breathing. Meditation starts at 4:50.
Lektion 3
Feeling Good About Ourselves
In this session, we will learn why true happiness is not outside us, and why “soul food” is just as important as nutrition. We’ll use a visualisation meditation called "Sunshine" to connect with our inner strength and warm-heartedness. Meditation begins at 5:53.
Lektion 4
Words Of Encouragement
In this session, we will encourage kind and supportive self-talk and we will learn why we might be conditioned into having a critical inner voice. We’ll find ways to say the words we long to hear to ourselves and see if kind self-talk soothes our system as much as hearing kind words from others. Meditation begins at 4:30.
Lektion 5
Appreciating Ourselves & Our Life
In this session, we will learn about the benefits of self-appreciation, and the challenges to appreciating ourselves. We’ll learn why our brains are wired to search for problems. In the story of Kind Midas, we’ll learn why continually craving for more and more blocks our ability to appreciate the simple things in life. We’ll practice a gratitude and self-appreciation meditation. Meditation begins at 9:30.
Lektion 6
Appreciating Our Bodies
In this session, we’ll acknowledge any judgements we hold or difficulties our bodies have and explore focusing on what is working well and is in good health. We’ll also explore the science of self-comparison and why human nervous system is designed to “fit in”. We’ll have a go at a short body appreciation contemplation. Meditation begins at 6:16.
Lektion 7
Living A Life You Love Each Day
In this session, we will journal about different aspects of wellbeing and acknowledge the good we are already doing for ourselves. We’ll learn why taking time to absorb and “install” positive feelings is beneficial. We’ll also learn a short self-care practice, called a SNACK break, which we can use anytime, to check in on ourselves. Journaling begins at 7:30. Self-Care SNACK begins at 15:18.
Lektion 8
Embracing Our Unwanted Parts
In this session, we’ll learn how the wounded parts of ourselves are not solely our fault; that they are the result of our conditioning and were perhaps, at one point, useful ways to fit in or survive. However, as they are our responsibility, we’ll learn how to heal them by bringing the compassionate part of ourselves online to accept, embrace, and send them support. Meditation begins at 7:14.
Lektion 9
Soothing Social Anxiety & Self-Comparison
In this session, we will reflect on how the social brain is programmed to fit in and to overfocus on ways we might not. I’ll share my personal story of working with social anxiety and we’ll practice a meditation designed to help us feel safer to connect called "Just Like Me". Meditation begins at 6:35.
Lektion 10
Sanctuary Of Self-Compassion
In this session, we will celebrate everything we’ve been learning during the course. We will review and reflect on our experience, and choose which practices from the last 10 days we’d like to repeat.
We’ll also practice a meditation that helps us imagine being in our own sanctuary of self-compassion, a safe space where we can rest in a sense of peace and ease. Meditation begins at 10:12.
