Lektion 1
Honesty
Awakening comes from conscious actions. We have to be candid with ourselves in order to accurately assess our triumphs and failures, and grow through those experiences. First and foremost, we need to be honest about where we are in the present moment, right here, right now. From this position of truthfulness, we can begin to reflect on how things are, instead of how we wish them to be. Only from a place of honesty can we begin any necessary refinements to our practice and our lifestyle.
Lektion 2
Nourishment
Eating is one of the spiritual practices commonly taken for granted. Each day we have multiple opportunities to reset through nourishing ourselves. We will focus our attention on how to eat and how to choose our foods, without limiting ourselves to a specific diet plan.
Lektion 3
Rest
Sleep is our most underrated superpower. We will explore what happens to our brains while we are asleep, specifically the functions of repairing, refreshing, and recording. Then, we will focus on creating healthy habits to ensure a good night’s rest, based on honoring our biology.
Lektion 4
Exercise
Distinguishing fitness from exercise, we will investigate what it means to create a health-based exercise regimen, focusing on how to fit bodily upkeep into our busy schedules, so that it becomes supportive and sought after, instead of another daily task.
Lektion 5
Meditation
If we practice the first four keys, we will likely become healthier. Meditation is the key that brings us into a place of peace from the work we have put into taking care of ourselves. Through meditation practice, we can become aware of the other refinements we may need to adjust to maintain our practices and keep comfortable.
Lektion 6
Curiosity
Our brains are the ultimate “use it or lose it” organ, and with proper application through learning, we can keep ourselves young and fresh as we continue to age. Exploring brain-health outside of the practices discussed thus far, we begin to examine how we spend our leisure time, including the ongoing education of experience.
Lektion 7
Relationships
So far, we have dedicated our attention towards things that we can control. Most of the focus has been on creating better habits for ourselves, including letting go of those that do not serve us well. In this section, we begin to reflect on our relationships, a space where we are not always in control and cannot always strategize our way out of problems; focusing on our relationships with ourselves, with others, and with our environments.
Lektion 8
Responsibilities
Stress often comes from not doing the right thing. We must accept our responsibilities and not hide from them. By working through the list of things that are outside of our control, we learn to prioritize instead of fantasize, and work within the parameters of our current circumstances. Honoring the areas of life that need our attention the most, we find a way to fit our desires into our reality, instead of fixating on the ideals that evade our grasp.
Lektion 9
Acceptance
By concentrating on what we can control, we give ourselves power in a given situation. This leaves room for the unexpected and allows us to operate from a place of ease, instead of feeling at the mercy of the situation. Accepting the mysteries of life is one of the hardest processes that plague us dealing with such a material world, but this acceptance is one of the keys to liberation.
Lektion 10
Generosity
It’s not easy to be generous when we feel uncomfortable. By focusing on the good in our lives, we focus on small ways to improve the world around us for others. By staying open to each moment, we meet challenges with a loving attitude instead of from a place of fear.
