Find a comfortable position.
And let your body settle.
Allow the windows of your eyes to close.
And take a slow breath in through your nose.
Exhale gently.
And again,
Breathe in.
And release.
Allow yourself to arrive in this moment.
In this version of your life.
Take another slow breath.
In and out.
Feel your shoulders soften.
Your jaw relax.
The breath finding its own natural rhythm.
Noticing that you are here right now.
After everything that has happened.
After every ordinary day.
Every unexpected turn.
Every beginning.
Ending every decision you were certain about.
Every decision you question afterward.
And somehow all of it has brought you to this moment.
Today instead of looking ahead to the future.
We're going to look behind us.
Not to return there,
Not to relive anything.
But to acknowledge the person who carried you through it.
Imagine yourself standing somewhere peaceful.
Perhaps there is a path in front of you.
A long path stretching into the distance.
And along this path are different versions of you.
Different points in your life.
You don't need to see them clearly.
You don't need to remember specific years or events.
Just allow the idea to be there.
A younger you.
The hopeful you.
That frightened you.
The confident you.
Maybe the uncertain you.
Maybe the version of you who thought you knew exactly where life was going.
And the version of you who realized you didn't.
Notice that person.
Maybe there was a version of you who worked incredibly hard for something and didn't get it.
Maybe you built something that didn't last.
Love someone who didn't stay.
Stayed somewhere longer than you should have.
Left something before you felt ready.
Maybe you started again.
Maybe you made mistakes.
Maybe you made decisions you understand differently now.
You don't have to judge any of it.
Just see that version of you.
You were living with the information you had then.
The strength that you had then,
The fears,
The hopes.
You didn't know everything you know now.
There's no way that you could have.
And yet,
You kept moving through your life.
Take a breath.
And silently say,
Thank you.
Thank you for trying.
Thank you for getting up on the days that were difficult.
Thank you for the risk that you took.
Thank you for the times you were brave.
And thank you for the times you weren't.
Thank you for doing what you knew how to do.
Thank you for learning.
Thank you for surviving things you once thought might break you.
Thank you for carrying me this far.
There may be parts of your past you wish had been different.
You don't have to be grateful that something painful happened.
You don't have to call suffering a gift.
You don't have to pretend that every hardship happened for a reason.
But perhaps you can feel gratitude for the person who lived through it.
The person who adapted,
Learned,
Kept going.
And eventually became you.
Now,
Allow yourself to remember that your past was not made only of hardship.
There were moments of awe.
Places that took your breath away.
People who made you laugh.
Meal shared around tables.
Music,
Sunsets.
Journeys.
Quiet mornings.
Unexpected kindness.
Moments when you were completely alive without even realizing how precious they were.
There were things you once hoped for that eventually became ordinary parts of your life.
There were days you couldn't wait to arrive.
That are now memories.
Let yourself feel gratitude for those moments too.
You got to experience them,
To live them.
You got to love people,
To know them,
To learn things,
See things.
To lose things,
Find things to become.
And perhaps that is one of the strange gifts of being human.
We rarely know that when a moment will become important.
We simply live it.
And later we understand.
Take a slow breath in.
And bring your attention to the person you are today.
This present version of you.
Still learning,
Still facing things you completely don't understand.
You don't have everything figured out.
You aren't supposed to.
But you have something today that your younger self didn't have.
You have everything that version of you learned.
You have ever experienced.
Every lesson you choose.
Every boundary you learn to set.
Every time you discovered what wasn't right for you.
Every moment you've found your way back to yourself.
The past has become information.
You keep the wisdom and release what no longer belongs in your hands.
Imagine for a moment putting down anything you've been carrying simply because you've carried it for a long time.
And all to regret.
An old identity.
An old expectation.
A story about who you are supposed to be.
A decision you still punish yourself for.
A version of yourself you think you should have outgrown sooner.
Settle down.
Simply say thank you.
I understand more now.
I'll take it from here There is something very powerful about realizing that while the past helped create this moment,
It does not get to make your next choice.
You do.
You are here,
Today.
You have some things you would like to change.
And some that you hope stay exactly as they are.
Maybe you're facing uncertainty.
Maybe you're experiencing gratitude.
Know that you have choices.
Maybe not over everything.
Life will always bring things we didn't plan for.
But you have choices about what you give your attention to,
What you continue,
What you release.
What you tolerate,
You protect.
Choices about how you speak to yourself.
How you care for this white life while you're living it.
You don't need to make all of those choices today.
Just remember that they belong to you.
Take another deep breath.
And imagine those earlier versions of yourself standing behind you now.
The child,
The teenager.
The young adult.
The person who fell in love.
The person whose heart was broken.
The person who began again.
The person who succeeded.
The person who failed.
The person who was completely lost.
And the person that surprised you.
Every version,
Every chapter.
Every life you have already lived inside of this one life.
Perhaps you can look back with tenderness.
They didn't know what was coming,
And neither did you.
And still they lived.
And so will you.
Take a deep breath in.
And imagine saying to all of them,
Thank you for bringing me here.
Thank you for what you love.
Thank you for what you tried.
Thank you for what you've learned.
Thank you for letting go.
Thank you for beginning again.
I carry your wisdom.
And now imagine turning forward as the path continues.
There are the parts of your life ahead that you cannot see yet.
People you haven't met.
Places you haven't been.
Things you haven't learned.
Days that may become some of your favorite memories.
There are challenges ahead,
Too.
That is part of being alive.
But you already have the proof that you have met a life that changes.
And you've done it before,
Again and again.
You don't need to know exactly who you will become.
You only need to meet the next moment.
One choice at a time.
One season at a time.
One version of yourself becoming another.
Take a final deep breath in and let it go slowly.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Notice the sounds around you.
Notice the energy within your body and surrounding your body.
You have already lived so many lives within this one life.
And there's still versions of you you haven't met yet.
For now,
Simply be here.
Grateful for the person who brought you this far.
Present with the person you are today.
And trusting the one choice at a time,
You will continue becoming the person who carries you forward.
When you're ready.
Gently open your eyes.
And come back to this present moment.
