This is an exercise to support you to talk to yourself.
I'm gonna pose a series of nine questions and I'll pause for a couple minutes after each question to give you space to ponder and reflect upon with yourself what your answers are.
There are no right or wrong answers and there are no static answers.
The answers to these questions evolve with you so this can be returned to daily,
Weekly,
Once a year,
Whenever you think of it.
These questions may bring up emotions,
Sensations,
Feelings.
Please show yourself as much compassion and care as you talk to yourself through these explorations.
You may wish to write down your answers or speak them out loud.
You may wish to walk around while you answer these questions or sit,
Eyes closed,
Reflecting.
Again,
There is no right or wrong way to engage with these questions.
My hope is that you can engage with them again with as much compassion as possible with the goal of getting curious about getting to know deeper layers of yourself.
The first question is,
Are there things in my life that I'm currently taking for granted?
Question number two.
Fill in the blank.
I know I am stressed when.
Question number three.
I know I am happy when.
Question number four.
What do I like to do for fun?
And am I making space for those things?
Question number five.
How do I want others to see me?
What do I want to be remembered for?
Question number number six.
What's holding me back?
Question number seven.
What is motivating me?
Question number eight.
What do I still need to get off my chest right now?
Question number nine.
And question number nine.
How does it feel to talk to myself right now?
As you contemplate how this exercise is feeling in your system,
Know that you can return to any questions that are calling for deeper consideration.
However you're feeling,
I hope you can recognize that you've taken a chunk of time to be with yourself,
Which in the age of information is a very radical and powerful act in and of itself.
Wishing you well on your journey of continuing to make space to talk to yourself.
