Taking a deep breath and finding a comfortable position and noticing how you're arriving here in this space without any judgment or trying to change it,
Just simply noticing.
Noticing the breath,
The way you're holding your body,
The quality of thoughts that are moving through the mind.
And just start to follow the breath,
The sound of the breath,
The temperature of the breath,
The speed of the breath,
Slowing it down just a little.
Sitting or lying straighter as you breathe into the belly,
Feeling the chest all the way up to the top,
And then releasing from the top first,
The middle second,
And the belly last.
Just breathing in belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Exhale,
Chest,
Ribs,
Belly.
One more like that,
Even more slowly and intentionally.
Noticing the air moving in and out of the body.
Now,
Starting to imagine a beautiful nature landscape.
Maybe you're in the woods,
Maybe you're on a beach or on top of a mountain,
But wherever you are,
It's sunny and warm,
And your feet are firmly planted on the earth.
As you turn your head up towards the sun,
Maybe you can feel the sun on your skin,
Maybe you can only imagine what it would feel like.
Allowing yourself to absorb the healing qualities of the sun,
Courage,
Strength,
Energy,
As we start to journey.
I invite you to place one hand on your belly and one hand on your heart,
Turning your awareness even deeper inward.
As you start to recognize that this nature landscape is inside of you,
And as you start to walk further into the landscape,
You journey deeper inside of yourself.
Taking a breath as you anchor into safety and groundedness,
Noticing that you are sovereign and in control.
Taking another breath as you continue walking,
Trusting that your body and soul know exactly where to take you,
Only allowing you to go as deep as you can handle.
Taking another breath as you drift along the path,
Noticing what's surrounding you.
Again,
Maybe it's trees,
Water,
A field of grass,
Or wildflowers.
Another breath as you notice the steady pace of your footsteps and what's beneath your feet.
Another breath as you start to approach a clearing.
Not too far ahead,
You see a young child sitting on a log.
All you can see is their back.
You take your time to approach,
So as not to startle them.
You pause for a moment and just observe.
Noticing the way they're sitting.
Noticing how old they are.
This is the inner child part that wants your attention today.
You approach the log and take a seat next to them.
At first,
Not saying anything or even looking at them.
Just allowing them to adjust and trust your presence.
As you breathe,
Knowing that your grounded energy is co-regulating this inner child of yours,
Without even speaking.
Bringing your awareness to your heart space,
Or maybe even placing the hand on the heart again.
As you allow yourself to feel the love you have for this inner child.
With your hand on your heart space,
Feeling that love expand.
Feeling it get warmer,
Brighter.
As you start to turn towards them,
You make eye contact.
Still no words,
Just allowing your love to be translated through your gaze.
Knowing that often we have to earn the trust of these parts.
So just continuing to give them space as you gaze into their eyes.
Starting to sync your breath with theirs.
Telling your inner child in your mind,
You are safe now.
I am here.
I'm here to give you exactly what you need.
And just notice how your inner child reacts to this.
Do they jump up and try to play with you?
Or do they still seem untrusting?
Maybe they want to be held.
I'm going to give you a few moments to be with your inner child.
Giving them exactly what they need without rushing them.
Just allowing them the space to cry,
Play,
Reach out,
Or even communicate with you.
Now if you haven't already,
I want you to ask your inner child what they need from you moving forward.
Take a moment to observe and receive the message in whatever form it comes in.
And lastly,
Ask your inner child how they have been protecting you from being hurt.
Observe and receive.
If your inner child is willing,
Picking them up into your arms if they aren't already there.
Telling them that they don't need to protect you anymore.
You are the protector.
With your inner child still in your arms.
Getting up off the log and starting to walk back where you came from.
Back through the landscape.
Step by step.
Breath by breath.
Walking a little more slowly than before.
As you carry them in your arms.
Being cautious of any little stones or roots.
You continue walking.
As you continue to hold your inner child.
Bringing your awareness into the space around you.
Keeping your eyes closed.
We're not done here yet.
We're just starting to connect to the physical body.
And as you do,
Maybe you can start to feel the parts that feel sticky.
This inner child you were just holding lives inside your body.
And I want you to allow one or both of your hands to land on that place in your body.
Trusting that your hands land exactly where they are meant to land.
Holding this part of you with the awareness that this inner child part lives within you here.
Knowing that they are always there within you.
Now I want you to tune into the energy inside this part of your body.
Notice what it looks like in your mind's eye.
Notice if there is an emotion attached to it.
Notice if it has a color.
Notice if it's tight.
Or maybe it's more open now.
Maybe it's shifted from the way that it usually feels.
Breathing here and just noticing.
Again,
Bringing your awareness to your heart space.
Placing one hand back on the heart and keeping the other hand on the part that needs a little bit of love.
Feeling that love inside of your heart that you have for this inner child.
And allowing it to transfer to this other part of your body.
Visualizing that energy moving from your heart into that other part of your body.
And dissolving or burning away any last bits of stickiness.
And I invite you to stay here for just a couple moments as you alchemize that part.
Before we come out,
I want you to make a promise to that inner child.
A promise on how you will continue to show up for them.
Not just here today,
But for as long as they need.
Let's take a deep breath together.
Wiggling fingers and toes,
Coming back into the space.
Starting to open the eyes and just taking your time here.
No rush.
Allowing everything to integrate for just a moment here.
And whenever you feel ready,
Taking some time to reflect or journal on what came up.
