And welcome to this guided meditation.
This will be a short practice to help you get into the state of being and step out of the mode of constant doing.
So go ahead and find your posture,
Seated or lying down is fine.
And we'll start with a few intentional,
Slow,
Deep breaths.
So go ahead and exhale completely and begin slowly inhaling through the nose.
And when the belly is full of air,
Hold it just for a few moments and slowly and gently breathe out through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.
And when the belly is empty,
Pause just for a few moments.
Again,
A slow inhale through the nose,
Hold at the top of the inhale,
Gently exhale through the mouth,
Hold at the end of the exhale.
One more slow inhale through the nose,
Hold it and gently breathe out through the mouth.
And now completely let go of any type of control you have over your breathing.
The invitation in this meditation is to do absolutely nothing.
And lucky for us,
Our body will continue to breathe for us.
Tune into the natural rhythm of your body breathing for you and allow that to be completely effortless.
Soften your shoulders,
Soften and smooth all of the muscles in your face,
Soften the belly,
Relax the hands,
Relax your legs,
And just allow yourself to be.
There's nothing to do right now,
Nowhere to go,
Nothing to solve or fix,
Just being.
If the mind distracts you and you find yourself lost in thinking,
Reset by taking a nice deep breath,
Coming back to just letting go and letting yourself be here without any effort.
Don't try to focus,
Don't try to meditate,
Don't try to pay attention,
Do absolutely nothing.
And when you think you're doing nothing,
Do even less.
You may now take a deep breath and allow your eyes to open.
