This yoga nidra is designed to guide you on a journey through nature to a realm of self-acceptance. Feel the rising and falling of life as a cycle, that we all experience, as we transform rejection into acceptance for ourselves and others.
Transcript
Hi,
My name is Cherie.
Welcome to this Yoga Nidra Journey to Acceptance.
I invite you to lie down on your back,
Your side,
Or even seated.
Allow yourself to get comfortable and supported.
You may want a blanket to cover up with,
Or supportive feet.
As you settle in,
Take a deep breath in and a long exhale.
Allow your eyes to close.
Take a few deep breaths.
Let yourself relax.
Should you get more comfortable,
Give yourself permission to make any adjustments.
And as I guide you on this journey,
Stay awake and relaxed.
If you fall asleep,
Know this is okay and normal.
As you sink into the comfort and support,
Know you are safe and accepted.
Will you allow yourself to take this journey?
Imagine standing in front of an immense old tree as the sun is rising and warming the day.
The canopy of the tree gives just the perfect amount of shade.
The beams of sunlight are streaming down to reveal a door,
A beautiful secret door,
In the trunk of the tree.
You see the handle.
It is locked.
All you need is a key,
A special old-fashioned key.
You see this key is attached to a golden sunbeam.
You take the key to unlock the door.
And as the door unlocks and opens,
You step into a beautiful,
Magical space.
Larger than the tree could possibly be.
Unbelievable beauty.
The lighting is just right for you to relax.
Then you notice a small blue orb,
The most calming blue you have ever seen.
You focus your gaze upon this orb.
The practice of yoga nidra will now begin.
Take another deep breath,
And as you exhale,
Think of a wish you desire to cultivate in your life.
Your intention,
Your samkalpa,
A short positive phrase which is stated in the present.
With gratitude,
Take a moment to hear your own voice,
Your own words.
If you didn't hear anything just yet,
Perhaps say to yourself,
I accept all versions of myself.
Repeat this phrase to yourself three times with confidence.
We will now move our attention to various points of the body.
Bring your awareness back to the blue orb,
Shining a radiant light at the center of your throat.
Follow the orb as it travels along the body,
Healing,
Relaxing,
And bringing inner peace to your entire body.
Follow this blue orb to the center of your heart.
Back to the throat center.
Right shoulder.
Right elbow.
Right wrist.
Right thumb.
Right index finger.
Right middle finger.
Right ring finger.
Right little finger.
The whole right hand.
The blue orb travels back up the right arm.
Shoulder to the center of the heart.
Left shoulder.
Left elbow.
Left wrist.
Left thumb.
Left index finger.
Left middle finger.
Left ring finger.
Left little finger.
The whole left hand.
The blue orb travels back up the left arm.
Shoulder,
Center of the heart.
The blue orb travels down to the navel.
To the right hip.
Down the right leg to the right big toe.
Second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe.
Little toe.
The whole right foot.
The blue orb travels back up the right leg.
To the right hip.
Back to the navel.
To the left hip.
Down the left leg to the left big toe.
Second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe.
Little toe.
The whole left foot.
The blue orb travels back up the left leg.
To the left hip.
Back to the navel.
Follow the blue orb back to the heart center.
Up to the throat center.
To the center between the eyebrows.
To the right eye.
Left eye.
Right ear.
Left ear.
Back of the head.
The whole head and face.
The blue orb travels to the back of the neck.
Down the spine.
To the base of the spine.
And back up the spine.
To the back of the neck.
Center of the throat.
And down to the heart center.
See the blue orb at the heart center.
And feel a blue light embrace the whole body.
Feel the whole body relax.
Feel the whole body relax.
Relax the whole body.
Relax the whole body.
Relax the whole body.
Become aware of your breathing.
Observe the natural flow of your breath.
Visualize the blue orb at the heart center.
Watch the blue orb rising above the heart space.
And falling down below you with each breath.
Watch your breath and the blue orb rise.
And fall.
Up.
And down.
Start counting your breaths backwards from 11 to 1.
Say to yourself,
11,
Rise.
10,
Fall.
9,
Rise.
8,
Fall.
And so on.
If you lose count,
Start again at 11.
You are aware of the blue orb rising and falling with each breath.
Stop counting.
And once again,
Notice the natural rhythm of breath without changing anything.
Relax your whole body.
Relax the whole body.
The blue orb settles in your heart center.
Imagine awakening in the morning,
Watching the sunrise in the east.
Beginning a new day filled with acceptance of yourself and so many possibilities.
Light filling your space.
Renewed.
Rejuvenated.
And awake.
What does this feel like to you?
Now imagine the end of the day,
The sun begins to set in the west.
Closing the day.
Ending with acceptance for all beings.
All those around you.
Sunset fading to darkness.
It is a time to sleep and rest deeply.
What does this feel like to you?
Pause in this feeling of acceptance and peace and relax your whole body.
Bring your awareness to the space between your eyebrows.
In your mind's eye,
Return to the secret place inside the immense old tree.
You notice the blue orb transforming into a regal falcon soaring high above.
Guiding you to walk along a path of smooth,
Cool stones.
Along the side of a flowing river.
Warm sunbeams sparkle through the canopy of trees.
The path of smooth stones leads to a meadow of wildflowers.
You can smell the essence of the flowers.
You sit at the edge of this meadow looking up to the blue sky.
You see the falcon on a branch above watching over you.
It is then that you hear a faint whisper.
You listen closer.
It is a soft sound so calming.
You listen closer.
You recognize the voice.
It is your own voice speaking to you gently.
Telling you it is now okay to accept all versions of yourself.
It's time to love and accept all parts of yourself.
Knowing they made you who you are today and you like this person.
Know you are always safe and accepted in this sacred space.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
Rest in the feeling of safety and acceptance.
You look up and see the falcon start to take flight.
You follow him to the meadow of wildflowers.
You return down the smooth stone path along the flowing river.
You see sunbeams sparkling through the canopy of trees.
You arrive back at the secret door and step through it.
And as you step away from this immense old tree with the secret door,
You notice the sun setting.
And you feel yourself align with all versions of yourself.
Past,
Present,
And future.
As you journey home to your own heart filled with acceptance,
You begin to repeat your samkalpa with confidence.
Or say,
I accept all versions of myself three times with confidence.
Feel these words settle upon you and trust it is already happening.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
Stay here as long as you wish.
When you do feel ready to move,
Give yourself time in this space in between.
Pause here before carrying on with your day.
