I wonder if you can imagine a Christmas mountain that is so beautiful,
Playful,
And delightful on the outside that it attracts every child from hundreds of miles around,
And still the real beauty of it is inside that mountain.
Come along with me.
My name is Kathy.
Come on a journey inside Christmas Mountain.
This journey begins as you imagine yourself on a grassy meadow,
A meadow somewhere,
And there's a vast green landscape with an occasional tree here and there,
And then in the distance you see some hills that might actually be mountains,
And they're standing out against the deep blue of the sky,
And there are clouds floating near the tops of those mountains.
You can see a path leading across this meadow,
And you decide to follow it for a while,
Not for any particular reason except that it's going in the general direction of the way you need to go toward the mountains.
The ground is soft and easy beneath your feet,
And just for a moment it feels as if you need to make no real effort at all.
It feels almost as if one of those moving walkways was underneath your feet,
Like the ones that you find at an airport where you travel twice as fast as otherwise for the same amount of effort,
Almost as if you're floating effortlessly,
And as you gently and easily go with the flow of movement forward,
You notice that up ahead is indeed a mountain,
And somehow it looks like a Christmas mountain.
There's nothing you really need to do as the gently moving walkway takes you closer to the Christmas mountain,
And you notice a feeling of tranquility,
So that when you're ready to take a deep breath in,
And as you breathe out,
Soon you notice that you were standing at the foot of the mountain,
And you find yourself standing outside of Christmas mountain that is decorated with snow that is like frosting,
And green gumdrops that are used for leaves on the trees,
And the white frosting is dripping in white soft layers of snow,
And the whole thing is a scene from a Christmas story,
And behind the mountain is a distant horizon.
All of the trees in the snow have a cast of purple or orange or pink light as the rays of the setting sun there cast all around on the snow,
And you realize you are dressed in warm,
Comfortable clothing,
Feeling a deeper peace now than you have ever felt before,
And you are aware of your connection with the landscape,
Filled with a sense of joy and well-being.
As you were standing,
It crosses your mind that this is a children's Christmas mountain,
And you notice a cable car made of red and green Christmas candy.
The cable car begins to move slowly and quietly up the mountain,
And it almost looks like a moving carriage of some kind as you watch it move upward toward the sky,
And soon the carriage begins to fade too,
And you are aware of the soft flickering lanterns that are lit all around the mountain.
All of this is going on,
On the outside of the mountain,
And soon,
Soon you notice a doorway,
Almost like a secret passageway,
You look around and no one is watching,
As you look at the doorway that goes into the mountain,
And there is a sign there that says adults only,
And you realize that the outside of the mountain is designed specifically for the joy of children,
But inside the mountain it is hollow,
And inside the mountain is designed for adults.
The moving walkway stops as if it knows that it is carrying an adult right to the doorway opening into the mountain.
As your eyes adjust easily to the soft lighting inside this quiet space,
You look around and you notice a comfortable living room area with sofas and chairs.
Over to one side,
The fireplace is lit with a beautiful fire.
Sitting on the end table is a steaming mug of hot coffee or tea for you.
You shrug off any clothes that are no longer needed,
Any jackets or boots,
And you settle down in this place for adults,
And as you relax in this chair,
Becoming even more comfortable now,
You ponder the thought that there really are two different parts to Christmas.
There's the part for the children with all the bright colors and the gifts,
And then there's the part for the adults like you sitting here right in the chair,
And when you begin to ponder the real meaning of Christmas,
As you comfortably go inside yourself,
You realize that there is a statue of an archangel sitting right there on the end table,
And that archangel is familiar.
You realize that it is Gabriel,
And as you doze off and settle into that in-between state,
It's almost as if you can see the Christmas scene unfolding right inside your mind.
Archangel Gabriel telling Mary and Joseph that they would bear a child,
And then the birth of Jesus,
And that news being spread all around the land,
And as a peaceful connection that you're feeling right now,
Almost as if the archangel Gabriel were coming to you right now,
Here today,
To bring you a message,
And on the table next to you is a leather-bound journal,
And somehow you know it was left there for you.
You pick it up and you begin writing down the message,
Whether you received a written message from the archangel,
Or a feeling,
Or a sense,
Or lights behind your eyelids,
However you connected with Gabriel,
You now feel solid and grounded.
You feel the sense of your own magnificence and nobility.
You feel your inner soul feeling nourished by this time inside the mountain,
Nourished by this time inside yourself,
And you drink in the essence of this spiritual connection,
Filling yourself up with the real feeling of Christmas.
Let it cleanse any negativity from inside yourself,
Letting anything negative go on the out-breath,
And as you breathe in and breathe out,
Breathing in even more of your own magnificence and nobility,
Almost as if the magnificence was your favorite color,
And the mist of that color is filling you up,
Flowing from the top of your head down into your face and your jaw,
Down into your mouth and your nose,
And the mist of that beautiful color is flowing down into your shoulders,
And it's following your spine all the way to the bottom.
And that beautiful color,
That mist is flowing down your arms,
Down your arms all the way down to the tips of your fingers,
And that magnificence and that nobility is spreading down now into your chest and your back,
And that color of magnificence and nobility is spreading into your heart,
And with each beat of your heart,
That color is spread to every cell in your body,
And it's filling up your organs with that beautiful color of magnificence and nobility,
And you feel it spreading all through your stomach and into every organ in your body as it flows effortlessly down into your hips,
And easily flowing down into your legs and your knees,
Flowing down through your shins and into your ankles and feet,
All the way to the tips of your toes,
And you feel that divine magnificence,
That true spirit of Christmas,
And somehow you know that as you prepare to leave the quiet of the inner mountain,
That you are taking with you the divine magnificence and nobility that represents Christmas,
And as you turn and look at the room,
You realize that the fire is still glowing beautifully,
And the cup of warm liquid is still steaming there on the table,
And the chair that somehow seemed to be chosen just for you is left there comfortable and inviting for next time,
And the leather-bound journal now has many pages filled,
And somehow you know that you will be coming back here again,
And everything will be just the same,
Waiting just for you.
