So Hum
The Sanskrit mantra So Hum essentially means "I am That"—I am pure awareness or consciousness. It's a contemplation on the profound mystery of our being. The mantra can be chanted with music or as a concentration practice with the breath (inhale "So", exhale "Hum"). Eventually, the chant will give way to a deep inner silence. For a longer practice with this mantra, please check out my Daily Insight track: "So Hum Mantra Meditation".
