This is an excerpt from a Live Insight Timer Love Now session. This is an active loving meditation focusing on appreciating not knowing how many things in our lives work (such as faucets, cars, technology) and loving not having to know while still having the ability to use them.

You know,

That's something I really love is not knowing.

I find that not knowing things brings so much interest and passion into my life that as it's become so easy to explore information that rather than wanting to have the answers,

Accepting mystery and loving not knowing is for me a way towards,

How to say it,

Towards connection I guess.

Thank you for those hearts that like,

I don't know who's there.

I don't know where those hearts came from,

But I get to experience the wonder and magic of that and I don't need to know and that's possible in so many parts of life.

Like I have a plate of food.

Wow there's so much I don't know that I didn't have to do to grow or create that food and I can still feel the magic.

The amazing,

Like not having to know that is amazing.

Like I still get to enjoy the food and I don't have to think about all of this,

All of the things that happen for it to be there.

Like not knowing is incredible.

Thinking about plumbing systems,

Like I get to turn on my faucet,

Which is amazing.

I appreciate so much,

Like I get to turn this knob and water comes out in so many places.

How incredible is that?

I don't exactly know how my pipe went to another pipe,

To another pipe,

To another pipe,

To some other place,

How it came to be that this water came out of this faucet and I appreciate not knowing that.

It's incredible the things that I don't have to know for the world to work around me and I feel so appreciative not only of my own not knowing but also that there are people who do know.

Like there is some,

Many specialists who do know this pipe connects to this pipe connects to this pipe connects to the water treatment plant and in the water treatment plant all of this thing happened and the water comes from here and wow I appreciate those people and those people available to appreciate exist in every area of life.

Like I have like so many things that I don't have to know like how a car works.

I have a basic understanding of engines but now they've become so complex and I don't need to know that complexity.

How amazing is that?

I get to be here right now talking and you get to be here listening and I think it's entirely possible that night and I don't know what you know or don't know but that neither of us know all of the steps in between my talking and your listening but we get to be here together loving and appreciating and there are people and things happening along the way so many myriad of them and I love and appreciate all of them.

It's incredible.

I love my computer.

My computer is amazing.

It weighs like I think I don't know four or five pounds.

It has this super flat screen like this little camera that I'm looking into above my screen and I'm seeing in real time this image of myself here with my hands moving here's my eyes and my face I don't look at the image of myself too much I prefer to look at the camera.

When I look at myself yeah the whole different thing happens which is also loving.

I love looking at myself but then I have to notice the details but here it is happening in real time like somehow this screen was created.

How amazing is that?

It's like way less than half of an inch thick and then there's this also less than an inch thick thing below that does untold amounts of things and remembers all of this stuff for me.

How amazing is that?

Like I can take I want to use a big word I don't know hundreds thousands of images instantly and this thing will remember it for me and if I ask it through a couple movements of my fingers like oh what was that thing I saw 10 years ago in this place on the other side of the world what did that look like?

I move my fingers a little bit in this amazing four pound thing brings up an image and shows me oh that's where that's what it looked like that's what it was and there's so many things to love about technology and how amazing it is and how wow like how phenomenal it is and how much I don't know about how it works and how much I don't need to know about and it's still here working for me.

That's so incredible and so so much I appreciate about that.

When I get into appreciating technology and thinking about loving it I like to think about loving and send love to like actively send love to I don't even know the right words or elements but I know that there's a lot of stuff mined in the earth like rare earth elements that goes into making the technology we use today and I like to think about and imagine the people who are there mining those rare earth elements and how their lives are so different than mine and there's a lot I don't know there but I appreciate them so I just spend a moment loving all those people and loving the earth for wow where I don't even really know what a rare earth element is but it exists and it creates this ability for me to be here in this moment seeing myself on the screen and knowing that you are there on the other side and we are loving and sending appreciation together.

So let's follow that line a little bit.

Let's follow there's the people who mine the rare earth elements.

Thank you.

Thank you for doing that.

Thank you and I send you my love and I hope that it is bringing satisfaction to your life however it works to be mining and thinking about the people who ship and the machines and the technology that ships those rare earth elements to a place where gosh I mean I don't even know the steps I don't even know all of the people the people and things to think about but somehow they go somewhere in assembled so there are trucks.

Imagine that there's all sorts of equipment like I don't think you just like pick a piece of the earth up and go hey now it's a screen like there's got to be all sorts of refining that happens and sending love and appreciation to all those who have figured out how to do that refining as well as all of those who are doing the actual refining of not only the rare earth elements but also the more common elements like copper and I imagine there's silver and gold in our computers and devices that we're all using to connect this way.

And then there's the plastics right and I find for myself sometimes in my daily life I look at a piece of plastic and I feel concerned or worried and in this moment I want to notice that that happens for me love myself yes I feel concern and worry and also I can love that this is existing right here and now and accept it so I'm going to take a moment to appreciate this plastic that as far as I know used to be deep in the earth as some sort of crude oil that is brought up by many people and many processes who I appreciate because I use these products every day and mixed with other compounds I don't even know where these other compounds come from or made and how amazing is it that I don't know that it still happens and there are people who do know I appreciate them so much and they there are factories that mix it together there are people who have learned like when I mix it you know I have no idea what type of plastic this is I've known some names of plastics polycarbonate imagine like I don't even know the names but there are people who not only figured out how to make it this hard and this durable but there's also those that designed the molds to make it in this shape thank you people who designed the molds and there are people who designed the computers that helped them design the molds wow and then there's the machines that made the molds and then there's the people operating the machines that made the molds and not only that but there are and I have no idea how many pieces and parts there are to this computer and I know that this piece of plastic casing is one of the simplest parts like that's happening for capacitors and chips which are I think down to like molecular size at this point all of that I appreciate so much because it's brought together this moment of connection like technology for me at its best brings connection and I love connection I love connecting with you I love having this device that does it I love that it's operating in real time I love that you right now get to hear my words of love so let's use those words to say I love you and isn't it interesting that if it's in your mind you're repeating that in first person as I tend to do when I listen to things that when I say I love you in a way I automatically when you say I love you in your mind I automatically get the love sent back at with I don't know if sent at shared together get to share it together I love feeling that I love feeling what happens when I place my hand on my heart and I imagine and hope that there are others also hearing and sharing and placing their hand in their heart and feeling the place inside that is wordless and descriptionless that we try to put words to it feels love it feels appreciation it feels amazement and awe and wonder and compassion here we are all together recognizing that there doesn't even have to be a thing or a situation to love or to appreciate it doesn't have to be outside or aimed at anything we can just love undifferentiated unconditional appreciation undifferentiated unconditional appreciation this is compassion undifferentiated unconditional compassion and gratitude undifferentiated unconditional gratitude so much went into creating this moment that we get to experience together loving all of it thinking all of it and I'm finding that that's feeling to me like a wonderful place to you know this is about this practice is and it's not that I'm stopping the practice but in this formal way where I'm narrating it and sharing it and having an insight timer moment live moment of it that this is finds me a good place to draw the line of the sharing of the practice thank you for the hearts I would I love seeing the hearts it always gives them gives that since indescribable sensation a little just like it pops out and bubbles so I'm finding that I'm going to draw this session of loving to close I so appreciate all of you being here
