Hey there,
Thanks for joining today.
We're working with affirmations and mantras during this practice.
And I want to start by saying that these can feel really cheesy and insincere.
And that's okay.
I think when we're so used to talking to ourselves negatively and living in a society which does the same,
It can feel really weird and striking to talk to ourselves positively.
And with that,
We will go ahead and get started.
So find a comfortable position for you today,
Whether that be seated or lying down.
You can begin to close your eyes or keep gaze at the floor or a wall,
Whatever feels safe today.
And just begin by inhaling deeply and exhaling deeply.
Do that once more.
Just releasing anything that came before this practice.
And maybe you stretch your arms up to the sky on your next inhale and back down on the exhale.
Perhaps you do that again,
Or stretch your neck from side to side,
Taking any other gentle movements that feel really nourishing to your body today.
And if it feels comfortable,
Repeat to yourself,
I am worthy.
I am worthy simply for being alive.
I am worthy.
And if it feels hard to believe this,
It's okay.
If we're just beginning a practice of positive self-talk,
It's just that,
It's a practice.
It's continued.
That can be taken at your own pace,
That can honor your needs.
Take another deep breath in and out.
Perhaps this time saying,
I am enough.
I am enough as I am today.
I am enough because I live and breathe and feel.
I am enough because I struggle,
Because I'm resilient.
But simply I am enough as I am today.
Take another deep breath in.
And this time on the exhale,
Lengthen the exhale longer than the inhale.
And let it out as audibly and as long as you need to.
Just releasing those mantras out into the world.
Maybe for someone else that needs them as well.
And as a reminder to you every day that you are worthy and that you are enough.
Once you're ready,
You can begin to move around and open your eyes if they were closed.
Start to orient yourself back into the space that you're in.
I want to thank you for taking the time for yourself,
For showing up to practice this lifelong work,
And for joining me today.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.
