Stop. Be still. Just notice. Walk in silence. As you walk, look at everything you see as though it doesn’t have a name. As you walk, begin to name the thing that your eyes rest upon as if you were God, naming things for the very first time.

This is a silent exercise.

Walk in silence.

As you walk,

Look at everything you see as though it has no name.

See it as though you have never seen it before and don't know what it is.

As you walk,

Begin to notice what your eyes rest upon and mindfully begin to name it as if you were God naming things for the very first time.

Use only first generation names,

For example,

Flower,

Sky,

Shoe,

Bird.

As you begin to notice thoughts moving one generation away,

For example,

Cold morning,

Big dog,

Beautiful tree,

Just notice.

Gently stop,

Be still,

Notice.

Return to simple,

Uncomplicated,

One word,

First generation names.

Man,

Dog,

Cloud.

The morning walk is meditation.

It is about noticing.

It is a silent exercise.

It is so lovely to just walk and not know and let the world tell you what it is rather than me telling each object what it is to just listen and be still and let it name itself,

With it all.

But just to notice and to be so free in that it's as though nothing has ever been named.

Symbolically like God naming things for the very first time.

Someone had to name things and someone called it tree and someone else believed it and we've been passing it on in all these languages on this planet.

And we really,

Really think it's a tree whereas what if you just got still,

Notice and let it tell you?

So I invite you to that don't know mind and your morning walk.

I love the morning walk. It’s beautiful to see things and not rush myself to give them a name. A great way to start the day.

I love this, thank you! When you said, “…even at all,” I felt some relief because I was observing that the trees, the clouds, the cars & houses — none of them wanted a name. I honour that.

Let things and plants and trees tell us what they are without naming them

... And let it tell you.. There's so much more about others (and ourselves) when we drop our stories. Thank you.
