This meditation is going to help us open up to loving kindness,
And it will boost our compassion towards others.
I invite you now to find a comfortable position,
Whether it's sitting or lying down.
Simply find what is comfortable for you.
Begin by exhaling the breath you are on,
And inhaling deeply.
I invite you to gently close your eyes,
And as you exhale,
Allow your body to relax.
Checking in with your spine,
Take another deep breath in,
Aligning your spine,
One vertebrae on top of the other.
As you exhale,
Relax into the space,
Making any adjustments and keeping your eyes closed.
Gently invite your awareness inwards without straining or concentrating.
Simply relax and focus on this visualization.
Begin to see a soft light within you.
Visualize its unique color,
Shape,
And shimmer.
This light is always within you.
Now imagine a strand of this light reaching down,
Deep down into the core of the earth.
It travels past your tailbone to connect with the center of this great planet.
The earth responds and lovingly sends you light streaming back.
This light connects and mixes with the light within you.
The earth,
Gaia,
Her energy mixes with your energy.
Now imagine a ball of light in the sky.
This is the galactic center's energy.
Imagine a strand of your light reaching up past your crown chakra,
Reaching high towards space,
Connecting with this ball of light in the sky.
The galactic center responds to you by beaming down its own energy to connect with your crown chakra and then mixing with the light within you.
Take a breath and absorb this feeling,
Allowing earth's energy and the galactic center's energy to mix with yours and support you.
Inhaling and exhaling,
Integrating the energy of the earth and the galaxy.
Feel this special connection.
Now keeping your eyes closed,
Begin to think of a person close to you who loves you very much.
This person could be someone from your past or present,
Someone who has passed on,
Or a spiritual guide or teacher.
Imagine that this person is standing on your left side,
Sending you their love.
This person is sending you wishes for your safety,
For your well-being,
And happiness.
Feel the warm energy of these wishes coming to you from this person.
Allow this love to wash over your cells and sink deep into your energy system.
Now imagine another person who cherishes you deeply.
They are standing on your right side.
They are sending you wishes for your wellness,
For your health,
And happiness.
Feel the kindness and warmth coming to you from this person.
Now bring to mind all the people who love you and have loved you.
You are surrounded on all sides by your friends and family.
Picture them standing,
Smiling,
And sending you wishes for your health,
Happiness,
And well-being.
Bask in the warm wishes and love coming from all sides.
This energy is filling you,
Flowing to every part of your body,
Until you are filled with this energy of warmth and love.
Now bring your awareness back to the person on your left side,
The first person to send you their love.
They will now receive your energy.
Begin to send the love that you feel back to this person.
You and this person are similar.
Like you,
They wish to be happy.
Send your love and warm wishes to this person by repeating the following phrases silently.
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be free from pain.
Now focus your awareness on this person or another person.
Begin to direct the love within you to this new person,
Sending the energy of love and peace by repeating the following phrases silently.
Just as I wish to,
May you be safe,
May you be healthy,

Just as I wish to,

Just as I wish to,

Now bring to mind an acquaintance,
Someone who you don't know very well and towards whom you do not have any particular feelings.
You and this person are alike in your wish to have a good life.
Send your wishes for well-being to this person and repeat the following phrases silently.

May you be free from pain.
May you be happy,
May be healthy,
May be free from pain.
May you be happy,

May you be free from pain.
Now bring to mind a person towards whom you do not have many positive feelings.
This may be someone with whom you've had an argument,
Such as a coworker,
Neighbor,
Or friend.
Visualize this person.
Know that they too wish to experience joy and well-being in their life.
Even though it may seem difficult,
Take a breath.
And send your good wishes to this person by repeating the following phrases silently.
Just as I wish to,
May you also live with ease and happiness.
Just as I wish to,

Just as I wish to,

Take a breath,
Inhaling.
And as you exhale,
Expand your awareness and picture the earth.
Imagine this earth as a tiny ball.
Cup this beautiful blue ball in your hands.
Admiring the beauty of our magnificent Mother Gaia.
Send warm wishes to all living beings on the globe who,
Like you,
Wish to be happy.
Send the planet this warm,
Loving energy by repeating the following phrases silently.
May your life be filled with happiness,
Health,
And well-being.

Now I invite you to turn your awareness back to your body,
Bringing your awareness inward and returning to the light that glows within you.
Observe this ball of light within you.

Begin to return to this space by making small movements in your fingers and toes.
Notice the state of your mind.
How are you feeling?
Take another deep breath.
And as you breathe out,
Begin to bring yourself back into this space.
And when you are ready,
