Not being able to sleep is one of the most frustrating experience we come up against as humans, and the pressure we put on ourselves to sleep in these situations only makes it worse. This mediation "invites" you to sleep so that the self-induced pressure is relieved. A gentle voice and background music induces relaxations and eases you into sleep and deep relaxation.

Transcript

As you relax into a comfortable position,

You may notice your mind filled with thoughts,

Thoughts of things to do in the future,

Of events or situations that have already happened.

But for now,

You're invited to just be here,

In this moment,

Knowing that anything else you're thinking about will be waiting for you at another time.

But right now,

This moment is for you,

A time that you have set aside for sleeping,

So that later you will feel rested and full of productive energy.

But for now,

We're going to slow down mind and body and invite sleep to come.

So take a deep breath and let it out slowly.

And relax.

Another deep breath.

And as you exhale,

Just notice how your body naturally loses any tension you might be carrying,

Your legs,

Your arms all relaxing,

Your back,

Your shoulders,

Your neck and face all just softening with every breath.

Another breath now,

As you just enjoy this feeling.

In this moment,

There's nothing to do,

Nothing to think about.

But if thoughts come,

There's no need to fight them off,

Just allow them to be.

And they will naturally drift through your consciousness and fade away as you continue to put your attention on your breathing.

Everything is just as it should be right now.

You don't have to sleep right now,

You can simply lie here,

Fully relaxed and let your body rest as you also relax your mind.

Just continue to listen to the music,

Let the music be a massage for your mind.

Just immerse yourself in the sound,

Continuing to breathe in a relaxed natural rhythm.

As I count backward from 10,

You'll notice that your body relaxes more and more 10.

And you notice that as you breathe,

Every exhale takes you deeper and deeper 9.

And that you continue to simply release 8,

Any remaining tension 7.

And a profound feeling of peace washes over you 6.

And you are free to allow yourself to just let go 5.

Let go 4.

And if your mind and body are ready 3.

You can effortlessly ease into sleep 2.

Or allow your consciousness to simply drift where it will as you continue to listen to the music for as long as you'd like 1.

There's nothing else you have to do.

I liked this. Sometimes there is to much talking in guided sleep meditations for me. This is mostly music and really allowed me to shut down my mind and drop into my body for a great sleep.

What a lovely calming voice you have, it is a shame that the music came in quite soon. My mind has been very active and it is hard to switch of from my worries. So meditation like this is great.
