And in this one I wanted to speak to you about the question that a lot of people ask me about whether the universe is a friendly or caring universe or not.
And I'm just going to read to you a common thread that happened recently that really proves that this is a primary question that a lot of people ask of life.
An individual asked me,
What if there is no purpose to life?
What if the universe isn't friendly or nor non-friendly,
But just is by pure chance and nothing we do will ever matter?
And a person replied to them,
And I thought this was a brilliant reply and I wanted to read it to you.
He said,
It might be so,
And if so,
Nothing matters.
But what if it isn't so and everything matters?
Wouldn't you prefer living your life as if it does matter instead of walking the path of oblivion going nowhere?
And I said to that,
If I had a choice to believe between the two,
I would believe that the universe cares.
And the basic essence of this post or this idea or this audio is that if we have a choice,
And we do,
We have a choice in believing everything about the world.
We have a choice in believing everything about the world that we live in,
About ourselves,
About the people that surround us,
About the politicians that rule over us,
About everything.
We have an idea in our head,
But it is a choice.
It is a choice that we have that particular idea in our head rather than the other idea that we could have,
Rather than the opposite.
There's two sides to every coin,
And we're either holding one idea close to our heart or we're holding the opposite idea close to our heart,
Or we're holding another random idea close to our heart.
But whatever it might be,
In this regard particularly,
It's very easy for an individual to say,
I don't believe that the universe is caring because I don't know.
Well,
As I've said before,
There are a hundred thousand examples every single day in every person's life that shows that the universe cares about you.
There's a hundred thousand ways that it does that in the way that the sunshine falls on you and warms you up on a cold day,
Or the way the breeze blows against your hair and moves it about and cools you down,
And the way the world is always giving you things.
Now,
Of course,
You might have a life where it's not perfectly perfect,
And there are things happening that make you feel like the universe is against you,
And I've had moments in my life as well where everything seemed to be going wrong.
Everything that could go wrong had gone wrong,
And this happened to me,
I would say,
Several times in my life,
But a particular period comes to my mind,
And that was,
I believe,
In 2014,
And all of my identities were being stripped away from me at that moment in time.
I lost my job,
I lost my relationship that I really cared about,
And I lost my home,
So I had to move back to my parents' house.
Everything that I knew,
Everything that I was,
Everything that I was able to do was being stripped away from me,
And I sat there thinking to myself,
What is going on?
At least in my mind,
I had this thought,
Well,
Things come in threes,
And three things have already happened,
So nothing bad,
Nothing else bad can really happen.
Also,
Everything has been taken away from me anyways,
So I guess I'm good now.
But the idea at that moment in time was that I really started wondering if the universe doesn't like me anymore,
If I did something to offend the universe in some way.
Thankfully,
That idea was so ridiculous to me in my own head that I was like,
No,
There is no way.
The universe is not like a human being.
The universe does not hold resentments.
The universe is not immature about its relationships.
It is the universe.
It is divine.
It's consciousness,
Supreme.
It's the ultimate.
It knows that things happen in our lives,
And we make mistakes.
We're just humans anyways.
It gives us the benefit of the doubt.
It cuts us slack,
A lot of slack.
It always loves us unconditionally,
Like a mother does to her child.
That's how I,
Thankfully,
I kept on looking at the universe.
I kept on thinking,
Yeah,
I know there's a lot of things happening in my life,
But I'm going to look at them as tests.
I'm going to look at them as random events.
I'm going to look at them as periods of time that are temporary,
And I know it's going to pass as well.
This too shall pass.
And then I know,
No matter what's going on in my life,
No matter how much I've lost,
No matter how much I've gained,
The universe loves me,
No matter what.
And that's the essence of what I wanted to say in this audio,
In this video,
Is that if you have a choice in the matter,
And obviously we do,
We have a choice to believe that the universe is friendly,
Or we have the choice to believe the universe doesn't care.
I feel like it's such a less stressful thought.
It's so much easier on ourselves to believe that the universe cares.
The world that you would live in if you believe that the universe cares isn't filled with war and battle and strife.
It's filled with joy and love and abundance.
And so who doesn't want to live in that kind of world?
Of course,
I'm not saying that these worlds are perfect,
And I'm not saying that the universe creates perfect worlds for us.
A lot of times it does seem perfect in many ways,
But there are things that could be improved upon.
But I think of it as only my own improvements.
If something is wrong in my world,
In my universe,
It's something that I have to work upon within myself.
And as soon as I work upon it within myself,
The universe and my world clears up as well.
It becomes perfect again.
So I always try as much as possible to put the shoulder of responsibility,
Or shoulder to blame,
Or the responsibility right back upon my own shoulders.
I want to shoulder the responsibility.
I want to shoulder the blame.
I am responsible for this world that I'm living in,
And I am responsible for my thoughts,
My ideas about the universe.
The universe can be whatever I wish for it to be.
The universe is whatever I think the universe is.
If the universe is unfriendly and is putting me into battle-like situations every single day,
Every single moment,
Then that is what my reality is going to be.
That is what my universe is going to look like.
Because the universe is just a mirror.
It's just a reflection of who we really are,
And what we think,
And what is inside of us.
And so what does your mirror look like?
And that's the question that I ask myself a lot.
What does my mirror look like?
What does my environment look like?
What does my external world look like in this moment in time?
Is it friendly?
Is it loving?
Is it kind?
Is it abundant?
And if it's not,
Then what do I need to work upon within myself?
What am I doing in myself that is causing this universe to show up like that?
For example,
One of my predominant thoughts at the moment is that I shouldn't be in a relationship,
Because it's going to take away from my freedom.
And of course,
That is exactly what happens in the universe around me,
In the world around me,
Every single time I get into a relationship,
Which I do rarely because of this fear,
But if I do end up finding someone,
They start being extremely clingy and possessive,
And wanting to spend all their time with me,
And not allowing me to do my work.
Basically,
Wanting to love me,
But doing it in a way that's a little bit suffocating for me.
And I noticed that my self-fulfilling prophecy comes true over and over again.
I believe that I'm going to lose my freedom,
And so of course,
My freedom is lost.
If I had the opposite view,
If I believed that the person would let me be,
And allow me to have my space,
And allow me to do my work,
I'm sure that is the reality that would show up for me.
So that's the essence of this teaching here,
Is that the universe can be whatever you want it to be.
The world around you can be whatever you want it to be.
What do you want it to be?
What choice are you going to make?
Despite all of the strife in your life already,
In the past,
That doesn't actually have to dictate your future.
Just because you've had a difficult life doesn't mean that your future life has to be difficult as well.
There is a possibility to change.
And of course,
The past is not a predictor of the future,
And we know that,
Because we know perhaps in our own lives you've had pasts that were amazing,
And then futures that were not are the opposite.
And things are always changing,
Things are always ebbing and flowing,
Always convoluted,
Always different permutations and combinations showing up.
And so it's our responsibility to decide,
What do we want our world to look like?
What do we want our universe to look like?
Is it a caring,
Friendly one?
Or is it one that hates us and wants us to have a terrible life?
It's your choice,
And literally can change your life from one day to the next if you start believing in the fact that the universe is friendly or that the universe hates you.
Very simple ideas,
But very powerful in the way they manifest in your outer life.
