108 Days Left Before 2021 Ends

There are only 108 days left in this year, and it can be quite a surprise to many of us who expect our years and days to last forever. I speak in this podcast episode about some things to think about as our quarter comes to an end. And what to look forward to in the upcoming quarter.

Hello everyone!

I'm so grateful that you're here listening and or watching wherever you are in the world and in this one I wanted to speak to you about the fact that there are only 108 days or so depending on when you listen or watch this left in the year.

108 days!

Which is quite poignant because 108 is a secret or holy number in Hindu religion but also in general to have a hundred or so days left in a year that has been quite tumultuous and chaotic and perhaps enlightening in certain ways and also transformational in other ways I feel like it's a good time for us all to sit down and to think about you know how has the year been so far and what have I accomplished or what I want have I not accomplished or what do I want to accomplish in the next few months few days and to look at how far you've come either emotionally spiritually physically perhaps you moved perhaps you've actually physically moved or you perhaps you moved on from a relationship that you've been holding or carrying in your heart for a long time perhaps you made new friends perhaps you've lost friends unfortunately a lot of people have lost loved ones and they get grieving that or getting over that perhaps you are in healing mode right now and you're healing certain issues in your body or your mind maybe doing the work by Byron Katie or perhaps you're doing you know liver flushes or parasitic cleanses or maybe you're in a really good space work wise and you're really transforming yourself there you're doing a lot in terms of where you're going and you're making more money than ever or perhaps you're in a bad space there and you're trying to figure out what should you do coming up you know should you change jobs or should you find a different different career or should you go back to school perhaps you should just retire if you're at that age so there's a lot of different things a lot of different aspects of ourselves we can look at in this space of time but it's always a good idea in general whether it be a pandemic year or not to cut your your year into quarters either treatment quarters or four month quarters and then kind of every four months or every three months sit down and kind of reflect on what happened in the past few months what will happen in the next few months what do you want to happen in the next few months in the next few years but then even the next few days and kind of do a little bit of planning because what what happens in a lot of cases and you're probably sitting there listening to this thinking oh my god only 108 days left seriously and this is what happens to you us as human beings you know we kind of get mired in the aspect of living life and the fact that we're kind of rushing from place to place for eating we're drinking we're sleeping doing all these things and before we know it before we even can take a deep breath the year has just rushed past and we're at New Year's at a New Year's party already and for me it happens quite often where you know I'll be sitting there at a New Year's party or at my by myself at a New Year's Day thinking oh my gosh how did where where did the year go where did all those days go where did all those moments go I had 365 days but I don't feel like I had any at all or I had very much fewer than that now of course I'm not saying that I am not a big time baster I do waste a lot of time of course now I am good at time management but not perfect at it so I understand where some of those moments went but really because I don't reflect as often as I should and really this is a reminder for myself as well I think that the more we reflect the more we kind of look back on high in hindsight on the year that passed by or the months that passed by and make plans for the months that are to come or the years that are to come it really kind of puts things into perspective for us and makes us feel less harried makes us feel less rushed makes us feel like we're more in the moment in the present makes us feel more comfortable and makes us realize what we're actually doing with our lives because without the reflection process without the integration process without realizing what we did and what we're gonna do what happens is that life just passes us by without any any fortitude any kind of realization any any holding on to it it just flies by you and you can't even hold on to a second of it but as soon as you start doing a little bit of reflection as soon as you start doing a little bit of integration what happens is that you kind of hold on to not all of it obviously a lot of your life will still pass you by without you realizing it but you can hold on to bits and pieces of it the most important bits and pieces even though every moment is important yes of course but there are some moments that are a little bit more poignant than others they're a little more transformational than others or perhaps a little bit more important in the general scheme of things and so if you can just hold on to those moments and understand them better understand the lesson better integrate the lesson better I think we would all be much better off in the long run and so as I said the reason I'm doing this video is a reminder for myself and for all of you listening to take a moment it doesn't have to be a long process really truly it doesn't have to be we always think that we have to make an elaborate thing out of it but we don't really you're sitting with a cup of coffee right now perhaps or a cup of tea or maybe you're having a little bit of food whatever it might be take five minutes even and I that should be more than enough to reflect on a few months of what your life was all about because despite what we think we do a lot of things yes we do but we don't do a lot of major important transformational crazy things in our years over a lifetime for sure we do a lot more but if you look at 2021 yes it's been chaotic year but you probably have only maybe four or five moments so you can really capture out of the whole entire year till now that were really important to you that I really want to hold on to in your heart that you really want to capture in your mind and so those are the four or five moments that you really need to pay attention to the rest of the year you can kind of like yeah it was a great year or it was a bad year but I'm gonna move forward and do something else next year or in the next few months so do that reflection bit and obviously do a little bit of planning so what are one or two things it doesn't have to be a hundred things what are one or two things you would like to accomplish before the year ends it could be as simple as I want to call my mother once every two weeks until the end of the year or it could be as simple as I want to save a hundred dollars every month from my paycheck you know it doesn't have to be something major it can be very simple something that's important to you something that matters to you and you know put that down as well and it's nice if you can write it down a lot of times if you don't have the space to write things down what I do in those moments is I just create a voice note for myself and every phone nowadays almost every smartphone has this capability you can create voice notes for yourself you can even send a voice note to yourself through whatsapp or you can send it to someone else and you can you can you can share with each other but create a voice note for yourself you know quickly you can kind of surmise or sum up the five things that happened to you over the past year that are really important that you want to remember and then do two or three things or one or two things that you want to do before the year ends and voila you have a reflection integration moment done very simple very easy very powerful indeed and if possible you know try to do this every few months the perfect time usually is when the season changes that's why you know we're in this moment in time where we're in fall right now if you're in a country that kind of looks at it that way or autumn in other countries and it's a perfect time for you to sit down say okay so what was the what was the over the first eight months all about and what am I gonna what do I want for the next four months and and again you can do this again and obviously December comes that's a really easy time to do it because the year is ending and it's a really reflective time anyways but to bring that reflection into the rest of the year is a great idea as well three or four times a year every three or four months is perfect doesn't have to be more often than that you can make it more often if you like but doesn't have to be and even with just these three or four moments of reflection quick moments of reflection you'll have a lot of information that you can gather and it'll put you much further
