Come into a seated position on the floor,
Sitting back to back.
With your partner.
Remove your shoes and socks,
Bring your knees up and keep your bare feet planted into the floor.
Take any measures necessary to feel comfortable.
Adding a cushion underneath you,
Taking the knees out wide,
Sliding the feet closer or further away or simply coming cross-legged.
Settle into each other,
Allowing your elbows to rest on your knees or your hands in your lap and gently lean your hands back to rest against each other.
Close your eyes,
Move into a state of silence and deep full breathing.
Be with each other.
Become aware of your own breath moving in and out full and deep.
Expand your awareness to take in your partner's breathing.
Feel how the breath moves both of your bodies as you take in the same air.
Simply acknowledge the breath to be here together without speaking,
Without analyzing,
Without judging.
You don't need to make anything happen.
You don't need to make yourself feel anything that you don't naturally feel.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Quiet your thoughts and tune in.
Still breathing full and deep.
Bring your awareness now to your heart.
Hear its beating.
Feel its longings.
Allow yourself to feel any emotions that may be coming to the surface.
Be present with your emotions.
Tune in to whatever may be weighing on your heart at this time.
Let it slowly and clearly reveal itself to you.
Be here for several moments in silent awareness.
Expand your awareness now to take in your partner's heart as well.
Hear its beating.
Feel its longing.
Be willing to observe and comprehend the emotions that have surfaced in your partner's heart.
You may be surprised at what you begin to feel and gain new insights into your partner.
There is no place for judgment or critique in this sacred space.
You don't need to fix,
Change,
Alter,
Or heal your partner.
You simply need to be present.
Hold space for one another.
Honor who you each are right now in this moment.
Visualize a strong cord of light begin to develop and extend between your two hearts,
Connecting you energetically to one another.
Your hearts are now one.
As you press your backs together,
Your hearts beat together,
Feel together,
And love together.
Old grudges melt away.
Newfound compassion swells.
