Hi,

I'm Bassem,

Thank you for joining me.

There was a time when before you became a child of a mother and a father,

You were a child of the universe,

Born of mystery,

Born of grace.

You came into this life at a particular point in time and have since forgotten your essential spiritual identity.

Consequently you suffer under the weight of your physical experience and the limits of your thinking and your beliefs and your ideals.

Born fearless,

You learn to be afraid.

Born knowing,

You learn to be confused.

Born right,

You learn to be wrong and born playful,

You learn to be austere.

But you still are that child and all of these wonderful graces that you were born with are still within you,

Awaiting your conscious return.

The same power that governs the entire universe is coursing through your veins,

Through your cells,

Nourishing them,

Protecting them,

Loving you and healing you.

Tonight,

As we embark on this special sleep meditation,

We are going to together come into a greater recall of our essential identity.

You are going to release your form and your concerns and your worries and your fears and desires into the cosmic embrace that cradles you,

Surrendering your form into its safe keeping just for tonight,

Just for tonight.

Just for tonight you're going to let go of all these things that you have been carrying on your shoulders,

All of these things that have been hampering your living experience.

You're going to dive beneath the surface of your own thinking into the recall of your essential identity.

If you have not yet closed your eyes,

Allow your eyes to softly close and simply become increasingly aware of the fact of you,

The fact of your being,

Occupying time,

Surrounded by the space in your room,

Simply becoming aware of yourself as an occupant in this space and time continuum.

The first connection you have with yourself is your body,

This mind and body complex that allows you to inhabit this third dimension of physicality,

To guard you and protect you and allows you to have your sensorial,

Physical and mental experience.

But it is not who you are,

You are that animating light of consciousness that is ever there even when the body is preoccupied with its incessant activities and chores.

As you lie there and become aware of the fact of your body,

You also become aware of the fact of your breathing.

Often we confuse the fact of our breathing to be something that we ourselves do and yet the breath is something that is happening to us.

As you lie there,

Surrendering your body to this cosmic cradle,

The inhale expanding your physical form and you are aware,

As the exhale releases and you are aware,

The inhale,

The exhale and you are aware,

Awareness being the constant,

Unchanging reality,

Thoughts calling your attention,

You simply allow them to be there,

But return your attention to your breathing,

Just noticing,

You are not doing anything at all,

Simply noticing,

Sensations rise,

You simply return your attention to your breathing,

Feelings may surface but you go on returning to your breathing,

Noticing,

Simply noticing.

As you continue to breathe in this manner,

Noticing,

The body takes this wonderful opportunity to begin to unwind,

To release and to unpack yesterday's and yesteryear's tensions and pressures,

All is well,

It has always been well,

You just did not know it,

Thoughts may rise,

You don't try to stop them,

You simply return to the fact of your breathing,

Sensations may rise,

You don't try to change them,

You simply return to the fact of your breathing,

Feelings or moods may rise,

You simply return to your breathing,

By now the body is beginning to feel more and more porous,

As if somehow you are de-atomizing,

Becoming lighter,

Becoming taken over by a profound,

Deep inner calm,

And in this wonderful state you remind yourself that whenever you find yourself beginning to distance,

To attach to your thoughts that come and go,

To your feelings,

Moods,

Sensations,

All you need to do is to simply come back to your breathing,

In the here and now,

May all beings be happy,

May all beings be free,

May I be free,

I wish you peace,

I wish you a return to recall of your essential,

Innocent nature,

Goodnight
