Find a position that feels comfortable enough for the next few minutes.
You can close your eyes.
Or simply soften your gaze.
Let your hands rest somewhere natural,
Perhaps on your thighs.
Or with one hand over your chest and the other over your abdomen.
Before trying to change anything,
Take a moment to notice that you are here.
Notice the surface beneath you.
And feel the weight of your body being supported.
You do not need to hold yourself up all by yourself right now.
Begin to notice your breath.
There is no need to make it deeper or slower.
Simply feel the breath arriving.
And feel the breath leaving.
If thoughts about money are already present,
You do not need to push them away.
You may be thinking about something you need to pay for.
Something you cannot currently afford.
A decision you need to make.
A future that feels uncertain.
Or the fear that no matter what you do,
There may never be quite enough.
Whatever is present,
Allow yourself to acknowledge it.
You are not overreacting.
You see money is closely connected to our sense of safety,
Stability,
Freedom and choice.
So when money feels uncertain,
The body can respond as though your entire future is under threat.
The mind begins calculating.
Replaying.
Predicting.
Searching for an answer that will finally make you feel safe.
But for these few minutes,
You do not have to find that answer.
You Gently bring your attention back to the support beneath your body.
Notice where your body makes contact with the chair.
Or the bed.
Or the floor.
Feel your feet.
Notice your legs.
Feel the weight of your hands.
And look for one place in your body that feels neutral or even slightly settled.
It does not need to feel completely calm,
Just a little less activated than everywhere else.
Let your attention rest there and quietly remind yourself.
In this moment,
I'm here.
In this moment,
I am breathing.
I do not have to solve my entire financial future right now.
And notice what happens as you hear these words.
Perhaps you find a part of you resisting these.
Perhaps your mind says,
But I do need to figure this out.
What if something goes wrong?
What if I do not have enough?
What if I make the wrong decision?
And these are all valid.
But you do not need to argue with these thoughts right now.
See if you can recognize them for what they are.
That is your mind trying to protect you through constant preparation.
You might gently say.
I know you are trying to help me.
But thinking about this repeatedly is not giving me any new information right now.
Now ask yourself,
Is there something I need to do about this in this exact moment?
Not later today.
Not next week.
Not for the rest of your life.
In this exact moment.
If the answer is no,
Allow the matter to remain unfinished for now.
Unfinished does not mean ignored.
It simply means you're choosing not to carry it every second.
If there is an action that you need to take later.
Imagine placing it gently beside you.
You can return to it later with more clarity.
You do not need to keep rehearsing it in order to remember that it matters.
Now bring your attention back to your body.
Let the muscles around your eyes relax.
Notice if your jaw is tight.
And let your teeth separate slightly.
Notice your shoulders.
Allow them to drop even a fraction.
Soften your hands.
With each exhale,
Imagine creating a little more space around the financial worry.
You're not forcing the worry to disappear.
You're simply allowing it to take up less of the room.
The worry may be yours.
And the support beneath you can also be yours.
The uncertainty may be here.
And your breath can also be used.
You can have concerns about money without needing to live inside those concerns every moment of the day.
Now bring to mind one thing that is available to you in the present.
It may be a person you can speak to.
A skill you already have.
A choice you are still able to make.
A resource you can use.
Or simply your capacity to take one step at a time.
Do not force yourself to feel grateful or positive.
Just notice what is here alongside the viewer.
You can repeat after me quietly or out loud.
I may not have every answer yet.
But I can meet what is in front of me one step at a time.
Resting my mind does not mean I am avoiding reality.
I'm allowed to pause before deciding what comes next.
Take a moment now to notice whether there is one small concrete step that would support you.
Perhaps checking one number,
Having one conversation.
Making one decision.
Asking for help.
Or choosing a specific time to look at the situation rather than allowing it to follow you throughout the entire day.
Let it be one step,
Not the whole plan.
And if no step is clear yet,
That is also okay.
Clarity does not always arrive while we are pushing for it.
Sometimes,
The mind needs space before it can see what is actually possible.
Return once more to the sensation of your body being supported.
Feel your feet.
Feel your hands.
Notice the sounds around you.
Take one slightly fuller breath in.
And let the exhale leave slowly.
Remind yourself,
This concern is a part of my life.
But it is not the whole of my life.
I can return to it when I am ready.
For now,
I'm here.
Begin to gently move your fingers and toes.
Allow your gaze to lift.
Or slowly open your eyes.
Take your time to return,
Reorient.
And carry only the next step with you,
Not every possible future.
