Begin by getting in a comfortable position,
Keeping the spine long.
Make sure nothing in your body is bothering you.
Then settle in,
Close down the eyes if you'd like or soften your gaze in front of you.
As you come to stillness,
Release the whole day behind you and the whole day ahead of you.
Just focus on this beautiful moment with you right now and take a moment to thank yourself for showing up today for you.
By immersing in this meditation practice and cultivating gratitude,
Take three deep breaths in through the nose and sigh it out.
Let it all go.
Take a mental scan of your body,
Starting at your head,
Making your way down to your toes.
Release anything that no longer serves you as you mindfully scan down your body.
It could be feelings of negativity,
Ungroundedness,
Envy,
Anything that is holding you back from the pure light that you are.
As you scan your whole body,
Become aware of where these feelings may reside and just let them go.
Imagine you are arriving at an event in celebration of you.
It's in your favorite place where you feel the most joyful.
It could be the park,
The mountains,
Or the beach.
Anywhere your soul just sparks,
Your loved ones are there welcoming you with a big hug.
Maybe your closest family is there,
Your best friends,
Some new friends,
And maybe some pets are running around.
You smell your favorite fresh food on the table nearby.
You hear the sound of your favorite music playing on the speaker amidst the soft chatter of all the people you love conversing with each other.
You witness the beautiful landscape of your favorite place taking in the whole view.
You feel the warm embrace of each of your guests as they greet and smile at you and you glow back at them.
As the sun sets in the distance,
The stars sparkle above reminding you of how big the universe is and yet you are here in this beautiful place with these beautiful people with good hearts who came to celebrate your soul,
Your being,
And your existence.
You feel a deep gratitude beyond your heart deep into your gut.
Gratitude for the beauty and coincidence of life that your path somehow intertwined with everyone else's and led you to this spot,
This evening,
This exact moment.
You start to actually feel the energy of life as laughs are exchanged,
Food is shared,
And community is felt.
As you look up at the twinkling stars,
You realize life is delicate.
The feeling of gratitude continues to flood through you.
Let yourself soak in the gratitude for all the little things and all the big things.
Enjoy the lightness you experience when you are grateful for the simple things.
You continue to stand there with your loved ones under the stars,
Arms wide,
And dancing in the pure essence of gratitude,
Appreciation,
And wholeness.
Start to come back into the space that you're in,
Deepening your breath,
Allowing your inhales to go deep into your belly,
And exhales to be full and complete.
Feel back into your body,
Inviting movement into your fingers and toes.
Make some movements in the face,
Maybe wrinkling out the nose.
When you're ready to close your meditation practice,
Gently flutter the eyes open,
Placing both palms on your heart,
Feeling the connection of your heartbeat to your palms and the gratitude that beats within.
And continue on with this renewed sense of gratitude.
