I am a Peacemaker,
A book to benefit survivors of human trafficking,
Published by IMA Books.
When the real history of mankind is fully disclosed,
Will it feature the echoes of gunfire or the shaping sound of lullabies,
The great armistices made by military men,
Or the peacemaking of women in homes and in neighborhoods?
Will what happened in cradles and kitchens prove to be more controlling than what happened in Congresses?
Neil Maxwell I am a Peacemaker.
I believe in making peace within myself,
My home,
My community,
And my world.
To make peace within myself,
I can sing a peaceful song.
I can practice self-care.
I can do the things that make me happy.
I can spend time with animals.
I can express gratitude in prayer.
I can meditate,
Daydream,
Ponder,
And imagine.
I can take time to be creative.
To make peace in my home,
We can say,
I'm sorry,
Please will you forgive me,
And I forgive you.
We can say,
Thank you.
We can say,
I love you.
We can give someone a hug when they're having a hard time.
We can play uplifting music.
We can create artwork.
We can celebrate together.
We can listen.
We can gather together to make and eat meals.
To make peace in my community,
We can all walk away when others are fighting.
We can all work towards collaboration,
Even if we don't agree.
We can all speak softly when others are yelling.
We can all ask a question when we don't understand.
We can all smile more often.
We can all take care of the places we live and visit.
We can all respect each other.
To make peace in my world,
May we all learn from the past and let it go.
May we all think of new ways to move forward.
May we all spend time in nature.
May we all be safe and prosperous.
May we all be healthy and happy.
May we all be healed and loved.
May we all be free.
Together,
We can make this world a better place for everyone.
Will you be a peacemaker with me?
