Let's practice today with slowing down.
Looking closer.
Expanding our view.
Let's start by taking three of the longest,
Steepest breaths you've taken today.
In.
.
.
And out.
And then.
.
.
And out.
And end.
Out.
There's a flow of energy in us and around us.
We can feel it.
We can see it.
We can sense it.
What internal sensations are you present to right now?
Do you feel energy moving in your body?
Is the energy swirling?
Is there tingling?
Notice and let these sensations flow freely through you.
What emotional energy is present right now?
It's the quality of energy that emotions are bringing.
Is it light?
Heavy.
Where are you feeling the emotions in your body?
Are they swirling somewhere inside you?
If so,
Where?
Notice the energy and see how it flows.
What thoughts are present right now?
What's the quality of energy that thought brings to your body?
Is there a place where they're stuck?
Are they swirling?
Did they feel light or heavy?
What's it like to just notice thought energy rather than following the content of the thought?
Can you be the observer?
Can you just let those thoughts run in the background as they will?
Tune into the energy of thought.
And see how it flows through you.
Notice your breath right now.
Feel the flow of in.
And out.
Think of all these internal sensations as waves.
They calm.
They land,
They settle.
Some days they're big and powerful.
Some days they're calm.
They rise.
They fall.
They come in,
They go out.
Let them be just as they are.
Let's turn our attention now to what we're receiving in our senses from the external world.
What are you seeing right now?
Look around,
Take it in.
Seeing and noticing can so often lead to thoughts and planning and into story.
Right now,
Practice just receiving visual information as a simple sensory experience.
The light,
The colors.
The shapes.
The shadows.
What energy arises in you as you hold that visual information?
What are you hearing right now?
Can you receive sound as a simple sensory experience?
It's so tempting to label it,
To judge it.
To react to it,
To try to control it.
What if we just rest in the field of sound?
What changes when we just notice it?
Receive it.
Let's tune into what we're feeling against our skin right now.
Tune into your sense of touch.
Are you feeling warmth?
Do you feel a breeze?
Are there clothes or blankets brushing your skin?
What arises in you?
What do you notice when you tune into touch?
Are there any smells or tastes?
What happens when we just receive them?
Can you feel all of the sensory information flowing in you and around you?
Observe it,
The constant interplay of energy,
Energy in motion.
Can you see yourself as the energy holder?
You can see it.
You can feel it.
You can hold it.
You can ground it.
You can choose what to let in.
What to give.
And where to place your attention.
Sometimes you may even choose to tune into the quiet stillness that's under all of it.
That quiet is always there.
That space is always there.
As you move into the rest of your day.
Carry with you your intention to be present to the energy in and around you,
To notice what you notice,
To hold the energy in and around you.
To shift your perspective.
Maybe discover new ways of seeing,
New ways of holding.
All of these waves of sensation and energy will come to you throughout the day.
Tune in to the part of you.
That sees it all.
That holds it all.
The expansiveness.
How does it feel to rest in that space?
To move from that space?
To be in that space?
Sit here for as long as you'd like,
Resting in that space.
In a moment here,
I'll ring a bell.
Inviting you to take this practice into the rest of your day.
Enjoy.
