Good morning beautiful.

You know I woke up this morning and like most mornings I changed my clothes made my coffee and went outside to sit with the Sun.

As soon as I stepped out the door I realized it rained last night.

I was full of excitement and I had to send you a postcard this morning.

Did I ever tell you that I love rain?

I love how it looks,

How it smells,

The way it feels on my skin.

I love the gift that is to the earth.

What it does for the plants,

The animals,

Just everything.

I love water in all of its forms from ocean to lake to river and back again and to rain.

I love water from the heavens.

Water is essential for life here on earth.

We all know that and yet each is different in what it represents on a physical plane but also on a spiritual plane.

Oceans,

They speak of depth,

Of vastness,

Of mystery and even chaos and danger.

Oceans hold what is already accumulated.

And lakes?

Well lakes often represent reflection and stillness,

Containment.

When we speak about rivers we generally speak of flow,

The journey and passage of time.

And while all these waters are wonderful,

Rain sands apart.

Rain is different,

Almost magical.

Rain is momentary,

A falling,

A descending.

It's the act of something higher coming down to nurture and cleanse or shift something.

You know,

Rain is often been something that has been prayed for and danced for in communities or cultures.

Rain is a blessing or a bridge between sky and soil.

And yes,

It can also be destructive.

There are always two sides to the coin.

And while that's true,

It is also a gift.

A gift from the heavens.

Something given rather than something sought.

And something beyond our human control.

But for me this morning,

It was definitely a gift.

It was a gift of cleansing.

It was a gift of the washing away of heavy things.

These blessed tears from heaven were drops of renewal,

Pearls of hope and sprinkles of growth.

They were nurturing my inner garden as I have diligently been working in that garden.

I've been digging up and turning over some soil,

Composting and preparing for more.

Preparing for different.

For growth.

The rain for me was a breath of fresh air and a start of something new.

So then love,

What does rain mean to you?

Close your eyes for a moment.

Yeah,

Close them just gently.

Can you see the rain?

Can you hear it?

Lift your face up to the sky.

Can you feel it?

Will you let the rain work its magic?

Will you let it cleanse you?

Nourish you?

Will you let it quench the drought that may exist within you?

Let your own tears mix with these tears from above and let them fill all of your reservoirs.

Yeah,

Just like that.

Now,

Take a deep slow breath with me and let it rain,

Love.

Let it rain.

The sound of moving water has always soothed the rough edges of life. This track was sitting in the ‘top pick for the day’ slot. I am glad I listened to it. Thank you! 😊🙏🏻🦋🌱

Well that hit the spot for me. It turned a day of “inconvenience and irritation” to a day of joy and love. “Rain, the bridge between sky and earth” … you just gotta love these postcards in the morning!
