Midsummer afternoon thunderstorm with rain recorded under a tin roof. The area is in the Highveld area of South Africa and at an altitude of 5800 ft/ 1768 m above sea level. Thunderstorms in this area is often very violent and this was such a storm. The rainfall was not that heavy but increased and decreased several times creating an interesting backdrop to the massive sounds of thunder striking repeatedly and rumblings echoing across the open landscape.
This reminds me of my childhood. I grew up on a farm (cattle & cotton).
Early mornings and late evenings were a everyday activity. Some days were tough but I absolutely loved it! My love of the rain and thunderstorms comes from working and living the farm life. A very peaceful and calm way of life. Thank you for bringing this back to me..
