Good morning.

Today is Tuesday,

February 2nd,

2021.

Oh Lord,

Let my soul rise up to meet you as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to God,

The three in one,

Creator,

Redeemer,

And sustainer.

As it was in the beginning,

Is now and will be forever.

Amen.

Come let us bow down and bend the knee.

Let us kneel before the Lord,

Our maker.

Remind yourself that you are in God's presence.

Notice how God may be speaking to you today.

Let yourself dwell on any word or phrase that catches your attention and let your heart simply respond to God in prayer.

Please repeat these words.

We are a part of God's good creation.

And it is a part of us.

Psalm 36 verses 5 through 10.

Your love,

Oh Lord,

Reaches to the heavens,

And your faithfulness to the clouds.

Your righteousness is like the strong mountains.

Your justice like the great deep.

You save both humans and animals.

How priceless is your love,

Oh Lord.

Your people take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

They feast upon the abundance of your house.

You give them drink from the river of your delights.

For with you is the well of life,

And in your light,

We see light.

Continue your loving kindness to those who know you and your favor to those who are true of heart.

Please repeat these words.

We are part of God's good creation.

And it is part of us.

Our prayer was written by Soon-I Lee Park,

Who is a Korean woman and ordained minister in the Disciples of Christ.

All the broken hearts shall rejoice.

All those who are heavy laden,

Whose eyes are tired and do not see,

Shall be lifted up to meet with the motherly healer.

The battered souls and bodies shall be healed.

The hungry shall be fed.

The imprisoned shall be set free.

All her earthly children shall regain joy in the reign of the just and loving one.

Coming for you,

Coming for me,

In this time,

In this world.

We pray in the name of Jesus who taught us to pray,

Our Father which art in heaven,

Eternal God,

Earth-maker,

Pain-bearer,

Life-giver,

Source of all that is and all that shall be,

Not only Father but Mother of us all.

May the hallowing of your name echo through the universe.

May the way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world.

May your heavenly will be done by all created beings.

May your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth.

With the bread we need for today,

Feed us.

In the hurts we absorb from one another,

Forgive us.

In times of temptation and test,

Strengthen us.

From trials too great to endure,

Spare us.

From the grip of all that is evil,

Free us.

For you reign in the glory of the power that is love,

Now and forever.

Amen.

I invite you now to hold someone before the Lord as we pray the prayer of Saint Patrick.

Bless all who call on you,

Almighty God,

From the rising of the sun to its setting.

May the light of Christ go before us and behind us,

Beneath us and above us,

On our right and on our left,

When we rise and when we lie down.

May the light of Christ be with us.

May the light of Christ be in us.

Lord you care for all of creation and watch over the earth and its inhabitants day and night.

Help us to learn to love all things created by your hand.

Teach us that we are part of a larger tapestry woven together for the good of all.

Amen.

And now my friends,

May the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ go with you wherever he may send you today.

May he guide you through the wilderness,

Protect you through the storm.

May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you.

May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.

Go in peace.
