In this mindful doodling practice, we draw tree rings — simple, concentric circles that symbolize the layers of a tree’s life. Each imperfect ring tells a story of growth, change, and resilience, just like the layers within you. As you doodle, you’ll be guided to reflect on your own life cycles: seasons of expansion, times of challenge, and the steady strength that lives at your center. No artistic skill is needed — only a pen, a page, and a willingness to explore. This session offers gentle reflection, breath awareness, and a calming, creative ritual that helps you reconnect with your own wisdom. What you’ll experience: A calming breath-centered start. Simple tree ring doodles for self-reflection. Gentle prompts to connect with your inner layers. A soothing practice to ground and reset. Take a moment today to notice your own rings — your story of resilience and growth.

Welcome back.

Today we're going to explore the wisdom of tree rings,

Those beautiful circles inside a trunk that tell the story of a tree's life.

Each ring holds memory of growth,

Change and weathered seasons.

As we doodle these rings we'll reflect on our own layers,

The cycles we've lived through and the strength they've given us.

So grab your pen and your page and let's begin.

Take a slow breath in,

Hold it at the top for a second and slowly let it go.

Notice your body here,

The weight of your hand on the page,

The steadiness of your seat.

With each breath imagine you're arriving at your own center,

The innermost part of the tree.

Start by drawing a small imperfect circle in the middle of your page.

This is your tree's heartwood,

The first layer,

The beginning.

Don't worry about smoothness or symmetry,

Let your hand wander.

Now add another ring around it and another.

Each ring can wobble,

Stretch,

Overlap even.

Let them ripple outwards,

Ring after ring.

Like the tree,

Your lines don't need to be even,

They don't need to be perfect.

The beauty is in their irregularity.

As you add each new ring,

Pause for a moment.

Think of a time in your life,

A year,

A season or simply a moment that shaped you.

Some rings are thick with abundance,

Some thin with challenge.

Each one matters.

Notice which layer you feel closest to today.

Are you in a phase of expansion,

Stretching wide?

Or are you holding steady,

Gathering strength in your core?

Keep adding rings.

Keep breathing.

Your page is slowly becoming a record of your own living layers.

When you feel ready,

Pause and look at what you've drawn.

See the story unfolding in your circles.

Every line,

No matter how wobbly,

Belongs.

Just like the tree,

You are more than one season.

You are the wisdom of all your layers.

Take one last deep breath and let it out slowly.

And carry that sense of rootedness with you into the rest of your day.
