Welcome to this class that's going to teach you more about the entertainer archetype.
The entertainer.
Jester,
Trickster,
Court fool.
You only live once,
But if you do it right,
Once is enough.
Mae West.
Of most importance to the entertainer archetype is fun and laughter.
You recognize and shine the spotlight on the absurdities,
Hypocrisies and ironies of life,
Although your compulsion to do anything about them doesn't extend much beyond making fun of them.
Your top priority is elevating the fun fact for you and others,
Whether that means throwing a cat among the pigeons or finding things that give you a little laugh.
The part of you that's an entertainer believes that the purpose of life is to have fun,
So your decision-making process takes into account that which you most want to do in the current moment.
Perpetually non-politically correct,
Entertainers are flippant and appear unconcerned with other people's opinions.
An entertainer has no problem sharing their own opinions in a way that enlists laughter.
The A-game of the entertainer seems them happy,
Playful,
Funny and fun to be around.
Even during difficult situations,
Beneath the momentary sadness and loss,
The entertainer always finds a joyful angle.
The entertainer in you tends to notice opportunities for enjoyment in almost any situation.
Entertainers commonly discover smart steps to overcome challenges and value the ludicrousness of life,
Often regaling later audiences with tales of their misadventures.
The underlying storyline of the entertainer starts with boring and restricting situations,
Which leads to frustration or power-hungry leaders who take themselves too seriously.
The entertainer then makes it their personal mission to lighten the mood,
Get a laugh and expose any absurdities.
The entertainer uses humor to say things that others may not want to hear,
But in a way that's easier to stomach.
They reveal hypocrisy through satire and they use their natural out-of-the-box thinking to create enjoyable ways to handle sticky situations.
Activities and tasks for an entertainer must be fun,
Fresh and enjoyable to be fulfilling.
Entertainers are excellent at getting other people to join in the fun.
They're playful and inventive and are great at organizing recreational activities.
Entertainers diffuse conflict and manage tough situations with their natural proclivity towards finding the fun solution.
They get a kick out of brainstorming and freeing the mind to come up with wild possibilities.
They may harmlessly trick others into doing things for them though.
The part of you that's the entertainer finds happiness in the irony and humor of life.
Entertainers enjoy new experiences,
The more the merrier.
Entertainers will engage others in play in order to pull those people from out of their depression and illusions of limited possibilities.
As a leader,
Entertainers can foster high morale,
Innovate solutions to problems and brainstorm new ideas.
People love to come to work because the entertainer leader brings fun and humor to the team.
Work is a game to the entertainer and this helps to keep everyone's energy up even during demanding times.
Others often appreciate that entertainers can maintain a sense of inclusion in a group while helping people see their less positive behaviors through the use of light humor or teasing.
Entertainers remain relatable through self-deprecating humor as well.
Some people may grow tired of the entertainer's antics wishing and hoping that they'd actually eventually stop kidding around and get serious about the job at hand.
It can sometimes be a challenge for an entertainer to get support from others,
Particularly if they're always clowning around or using trickery to get their way.
Entertainers may want to guard against their desire to play tricks on others,
Turn everything into a reason to party or behave irresponsibly.
People may suffer physical or emotional pain due to all the practical jokes dished out by the entertainer.
Entertainers also run the risk of never growing up and making provisions for the future,
Leaving untapped potential on the table.
Entertainers are sometimes oblivious to the pains or struggles of others.
The underlying story of the entertainer is a fear of letting people down,
Not succeeding in their responsibilities or being weighed down by boredom.
By playing the fool and being perceived as irresponsible,
The entertainer ensures that others won't rely on them for anything and that means they can avoid the risk of disappointing themselves and those people.
Most of all,
The entertainer fears letting life pass by without fully experiencing it.
Entertainers can benefit from fulfilling responsibilities,
Even boring ones,
Finding fun ways to do work that might seem routine or dull,
Clarifying their values and protecting what's precious,
Practicing moderation and common sense,
Being willing to face uncomfortable emotions and serious situations,
And balancing the virtues of the entertainer with those of the queen.
So let's take a look at that balance between the entertainer and queen.
Entertainers might encounter dire results because they forget to keep their commitment or pay their bills because they're having so much fun in the moment.
Entertainers have a blind spot when it comes to consequences.
The queen,
On the other hand,
Is very focused on taking responsibility and being disciplined.
Determining potential consequences provides the much needed balance to the negative side of the entertainer.
My hope is that after watching this class,
You've got more clarity about the entertainer archetype.
Your assignment for this class is to share three ways in which you're going to start intentionally expressing your dominant archetype.
That could mean changing the way you dress or the jewelry you wear,
Or perhaps you're going to take up in your hobby that you've always wanted to do but you felt others wouldn't approve.
If it aligns with your archetype,
Start that hobby.
Or perhaps you're ready to make the commitment or to change your lifestyle to bring it more into alignment with who you inherently are.
I'd love to see a photo in the assignment section of whatever you choose as a representation of your expression of your archetype.
I'm excited to see how this awareness transforms your life.
