When you're ready,
Get into a comfortable position,
Inviting in a few deep breaths,
Inhaling and exhaling,
Sighing it out through the mouth,
Allowing your body to take in each breath,
Savoring the feel of the immediate calm that comes,
The sense of ease,
The feeling of tension melting away,
And as you continue breathing in and breathing out,
Feeling that calm spread through your body,
Feeling the muscles relax around your eyes,
Around your jaw,
The muscles around your mouth becoming loose.
Imagine for a moment that you rise out of your body,
Floating up,
Feeling weightless,
Completely held and supported until you're high above your body,
And slowly you begin drifting back,
Backward through the timeline of your life,
Seeing events pass by you,
Seeing yourself growing smaller and smaller,
Back to when you're a child,
Just beginning to learn the ways of the world,
Beginning to make sense of your environment,
Beginning to make meaning from your experiences with the world,
With your friends,
With your family.
See that younger you.
Connect with her and allow yourself to really look into her eyes and feel her needs deeply.
What might she need from you?
What might she be afraid of?
What comfort or love might she need that you can give?
Allow yourself to give her whatever she may need,
Whatever you intuitively know that she needs more of in her life.
Walk over to her.
Perhaps she needs a warm hug to know that she's not alone.
Perhaps she needs some loving words to know that she's cared for or that she's loved.
Perhaps she needs a smile to know that there is joy to be had in the world.
Whatever it is,
Let yourself give it to her freely,
Letting her know that she is safe and she is loved and she is so,
So supported and always cared for.
Stay with her for as long as she needs.
And when you're ready,
You can tell her that it's time for you to go.
But let her know that you'll be back.
You'll be with her whenever she needs.
All she has to do is ask.
Wave goodbye for now and imagine yourself floating back up high into the sky,
Back along the timeline of your life.
Letting the same events pass you by as you see yourself growing taller,
Getting older,
Becoming more mature until finally you see your present self just below.
Hold slowly and easily back down,
Enjoying this time,
Feeling loved,
Feeling safe.
Float back down into your body,
Taking another deep breath in,
Really feeling that breath enter your heart space,
Letting you know that you're back here and now.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
