Allow this guided meditation to bring you into deep relaxation and connection with the spirit of an animal, whether one who walks beside you now or one who has passed into Spirit. You’ll be led to a sacred place and given gentle guidance to help you receive messages, healing, and wisdom. You may invite a specific animal to appear—or simply open to the one who wishes to meet you.

Transcript

Get comfortable in your chair and close your eyes.

Take three deep abdominal breaths,

Exhaling slowly.

Focus your attention on your feet and feel your connection to the earth.

Visualize a root growing from your body down through your feet deep into the earth.

Allow all your tension to flow down through your body going deep into the earth.

Now I'm going to relax your body one part at a time and as I direct the relaxing into each part of your body,

Feel it relaxing.

Actually send a mental command to each portion of your body telling it to relax.

And now imagine the relaxing sensation entering both of your feet at the same time.

Feel your feet relaxing.

And the relaxation spreads on up into your lower legs,

Relaxing your lower legs.

And on up,

Expanding into your thighs and into your hips,

Permeating every cell and every atom and your full attention is on the sound of my voice as the relaxing sensations move into the fingers of both of your hands,

Relaxing your hands.

And on up into your forearms,

Relaxing your forearms.

And on up into your upper arms,

Just completely relaxing your upper arms.

And now feel the relaxing sensations move to the base of your spine and slowly up your spine and into the back of your neck and shoulder muscles.

And the back of your neck and shoulder muscles are just completely relaxed.

And the relaxing sensations move up your neck into your scalp and drain down into your facial muscles,

Completely relaxing your facial muscles.

And your jaw is relaxed.

Even allow a little space between your teeth and your throat is relaxed.

Your entire body is now relaxed all over in every way and all tension is gone from your body and mind.

Imagine yourself now on a grassy path alongside a mountain stream.

The air is clean and fresh.

It is late afternoon on a sunny summer's day.

The sky is a beautiful light blue with a few fluffy white clouds moving majestically from the horizon.

You can hear the water rushing over rocks.

The rushing sound seems to be getting louder.

Just ahead on the path,

You see a beautiful waterfall cascading into a pond.

It is surrounded by beautiful green grass and wildflowers.

As you reach the edge of the pond,

You see a comfortable looking bench beside the path.

You can see a reflection in the pond and you marvel at how relaxed you look.

The sound of the cascading water is hypnotic.

You sit down and lean back.

The bench is made of rough wood but you find it very comfortable and relaxing to sit on.

You feel a sense of peace,

A sense of inner nourishment.

In this relaxed state,

Notice the gratitude you feel for your life,

For the animals who share your life,

And for all the wonder you experience,

All the abundance in your life.

Allow this feeling of gratitude,

The energy of this feeling,

To fill your entire being.

Let it grow and expand out into the world around you.

Now close your eyes to the pond and the waterfall.

Focus all of your attention on your heart center.

With clear intention,

Ask for the animal who wishes to speak to you to come forth.

Open your eyes and see who has come to talk with you.

Your hearts connect and you have a feeling of oneness with this animal.

This animal has a message for you.

You easily hear and understand their message to you.

Thank your animal friend for trusting you and sharing with you.

Prepare to leave this beautiful spot knowing that this is a place that you can come back to whenever you wish,

To sit,

To relax,

To heal,

To talk with your companion.

It is a place where rest and peace and inner healing take place.

Begin your journey back on the path you came from.

With the next five steps,

You become more and more awake and aware of your surroundings.

One,

Going up the path.

Two,

Feeling better than before,

Coming awake now,

Bringing back with you a sense of relaxation and inner healing.

Three,

Feeling refreshed as though you just had a nice invigorating nap.

Four,

Feeling your body completely,

Wiggling your toes.

Five,

Opening your eyes and feeling completely refreshed and awake.
