As the contractions begin,
Inhale slowly through the nose.
Feel the breath rise with the wave.
Stay with it.
You are riding the wave.
As it peaks,
Long,
Slow exhale through the mouth.
Relax the jaw.
Relax the shoulders.
Soften the belly.
Slowly let the pelvis open.
This wave has a beginning,
A middle,
And you do not need to rush it.
Do not need to resist it.
Soften.
As it comes,
Inhale.
Rise with it.
Are strong enough for this wave.

This sensation has a purpose.
Each wave moves your baby lower.
Each wave opens you more.

This is intensity,
