Cleaning Turtles.

There once was a man who walked his dog every Sunday morning around the lake near his house.

Week after week,

He saw the same elderly woman sitting at the edge of the water with a small metal cage next to her.

One day,

The man's curiosity finally got the best of him and he approached the woman.

He noticed that the cage was actually a small trap and she had three small turtles in it.

In her lap,

There was a fourth turtle that she was carefully wiping down with a sponge.

The man greeted her and said,

If you don't mind my asking,

What do you do with these turtles every week?

She smiled and explained to him that she was cleaning their shells because any algae or scum that builds up on a turtle shell reduces its ability to absorb heat and can slow down their swimming.

It can also corrode their shell and weaken it over time.

The man was impressed that the woman continued,

I do this every Sunday morning to help the turtles.

But don't most turtles live their entire lives with algae on their shells?

The man asked.

The woman agreed and that was true.

He replied,

Well then,

You're kind to do this,

But are you really making a difference if most turtles don't have people around to clean their shells?

The woman laughed and she looked down at the small turtle on her lap.

Young man,

If this little turtle could talk,

He would say I'm making all the difference in the world.

The end.

What is the moral of the story of cleaning turtles?

It goes back to the power of one.

This story beautifully illustrates the profound impact that one person can have in the world.

It serves as an inspiring reminder that no effort is too small and every action counts.

Your journey,

Fueled by dedication and passion,

Is not just a series of steps but a meaningful contribution to a larger noble cause.

This narrative of the cleaning turtles is more than just a story.

It's a beacon of hope and a call to action.

It reinforces the empowering belief that acts of kindness,

Compassion,

And intentional living are not mere drops in the ocean but the very waves that can shape a better future.

Each thoughtful gesture,

Each moment of care,

And every small deed of love are the building blocks of a healthier,

More harmonious world.

It encourages us to realize that our individual actions,

When sawn together,

Create a tapestry of positive change that stretches far beyond our immediate vision.

As you reflect on this message,

Let it motivate you to embrace the power within you.

Understand,

In the grand tapestry of life,

Your threads are vibrant and crucial.

Your commitment to making even the smallest difference is a testament to the incredible capacity each person has to influence the world.

Let this story be a constant inspiration to act with intention,

To live with purpose,

And to believe in the transformative power of one.

I'm going to add a quote of the day here and it's by Dr.

Seuss.

To the world you may be one person,

But to one person you may be the world.

And now here is an opportunity for you to journal.

I'm going to give you three questions and I want you to journal and see if you can bring about some insights and clarity into your life.

Journaling can be powerful,

So feel free to hit pause after each question so you can write it down and answer it and then hit play.

Here we go.

Question number one.

Reflect on an instance where your small action made a significant impact,

Similar to how the woman's care for each turtle mattered in their lives.

Number two.

Considering the story's theme of individual contribution,

What small consistent action could you take towards a cause you care about and how might it make a difference over time?

Number three.

Identify a simple routine activity that brings you fulfillment and consider how it contributes to your and others well-being,

Echoing the woman's satisfaction and caring for the turtles.

As we close today's chapter in stories with Coach Vasil,

I want to remind you to share your thoughts.

Rate and comment on this episode.

Your feedback is extremely supportive and if this story and journaling resonated with you,

Help spread the ripple effect by sharing it with just one other person who might need to hear it.

Thank you and namaste.
