Welcome to Mindset Talks with Coach Vasil and in this episode I will talk about that I need to trap words that confine our potential.

So prepare to deepen your awareness and welcome a journey of inner transformation.

Dear friends,

Let's explore a simple yet profound shift in language and mindset that can transform our energy,

Motivation,

And approach to life itself.

Think about how often we say I need to throughout the day.

I need to work out.

I need to meditate.

I need to work on this project.

Although seemingly harmless,

I need to carries a weight of obligation,

A whisper of burden,

A hint of reluctance.

It's a phrase that subtly saps our power and frames our actions as impositions rather than choices.

The I need to statements create resistance which then creates stress,

Anxiety,

And overwhelm.

Just like the title suggests,

It is a word that confines us.

But we have the option to change this.

And how are we going to do that?

Well,

If there are words that can confine us,

There are words that can definitely empower us.

I want you to now in your mind's eye take that label of I need to and reframe it to I choose to.

I choose to work out today.

I choose to meditate.

I choose to work on that project.

How does that feel within your body?

Doesn't it feel freeing when we choose,

When we know that we have that choice?

I choose to is a phrase of empowerment,

Of conscious decision-making.

It reminds us that we are the architects of our lives,

Actively participating in shaping our experiences and realities.

But this is not merely a linguistic trick.

It's about recognizing your agency,

Your ability to make choices.

Yes,

There are responsibilities and commitments,

But when we see them as choices,

We reclaim control.

We engage with life differently.

Our tasks become reflections of our values,

Our decisions,

Our commitments to ourselves and others.

This doesn't mean ignoring the factors that contain our choices,

But rather acknowledging that within these constraints,

We still have power.

We have the power to choose our attitude,

Our response,

And our mindset.

So I invite you to join me in a one-week challenge.

Pay attention to how often you think or say,

I need to.

Then pause,

Breathe,

And reframe it to I choose to.

Observe how this shifts your mindset,

Your feelings,

And even your energy.

Remember,

Every moment is a choice.

Choose consciously,

Choose wisely,

Choose powerfully.

Anchor in the present and recognize your power to choose.

Thank you for joining me on this talk,

And if you want to help me spread that ripple effect,

Send this to a few people in your life that you think could use this mindset shift.

This is a great reminder of how important the words we tell ourselves are in our daily experiences. I’m also going to practice β€œI get to” for an added sense of gratitude. Thank you for the reminder!

Great reframing! Thank you πŸ™βœ¨ Also, made me reflect on my language I use to my child, when I use "You need to..." Please advise how might I use the word 'choose' when speaking to someone else. Many thanks! πŸ’›

Excellent talk. We do have choices of how we choose to spend our time. Another great way to rephrase an β€œI have to” or β€œI need to” is to say β€œI get to”. I get to do this thing because of XYZ. I β€œget to” go to work so that I’m not homeless. β€œI get to” talk with the Holistic Vet so that my dogs cancer can be cured. See how that shifts your energy to bring excitement for what you β€œget to do”.

Thank you for highlighting that how we frame the things we do impacts how we do them. You've laid out a compelling reason to be careful and intentional. These are inspiring reminders.
