Hi and welcome to the Maddie effect.
I'm Maddie and I'm really glad you chose to spend these next few minutes taking care of yourself.
By pressing play,
You've already done something good for yourself,
So stick with it and trust that these next few minutes are enough.
Let's start by taking a slow breath in through your nose.
And gently let it go.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
And as you breathe out,
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Before we begin,
I just want to say one little reminder.
Affirmations are not about forcing you to believe something that doesn't feel true.
There's actually research behind the practice of self-affirmation,
Suggesting that the way we reflect on ourselves and our values can influence how we process information about ourselves.
So think of these next few minutes simply as a practice,
An opportunity to make a little more room for a kinder and more supportive way of thinking about and speaking to yourself.
You can repeat each affirmation quietly in your mind,
Say it out loud,
Or just simply listen to my voice.
And if one of them speaks to you a little more than the others,
Let that one stay with you.
Let's begin!
I am worthy without having to prove myself.
My worth is not measured by how productive I am.
I am enough,
Even when I am still growing.
I don't have to become something to be enough.
I am allowed to take off space.
What I think and feel matters.
I trust myself to make decisions that feel right.
I'm allowed to be proud of how far I've already come.
I can make space for who I am,
Not just who I think I should be.
I'm worthy on the days I feel confident and on the days I don't.
I can want more for myself without believing that who I am today is not enough.
I can trust who I am becoming without rushing to get there.
I choose to be on my own side today.
Take one last slow breath in.
And slowly let it go.
You don't need to remember every word of every sentence you've just heard.
Maybe take just one into the rest of your day with you.
One thaw you can return to when you need it.
And if this practice felt good to you,
Maybe come back to it and listen to these words regularly over the next few weeks.
Not because there is anything about you that needs to be fixed,
But simply to notice whether the way you speak to yourself begins to feel a little different.
And before you go.
.
.
Think yourself.
For showing up.
I thank you for trusting me with this little practice.
Even a few intentional minutes can create a shift that carries out into whatever comes next.
I hope you take care of yourself today and to have you back here soon.
