Welcome to this meditation and teaching.
If you want to skip ahead to the meditation,
You are welcome to do so.
Before I want to explain what this meditation means to me and why I share it,
About 25 years ago,
I was given a vision by Spirit,
And Spirit gave me a clear understanding at the time that I would later find out about releasing and trusting.
By giving me a vision of a leaf.
That fell from the sky.
Into a beautiful stream.
And began to flow down the stream.
This leaf begin.
Dead,
Brown and crusty.
And as it went down the stream,
It became alive.
Turning from brown to yellow.
To orange.
Red and then eventually green.
When it turned green it.
.
.
Ended his journey on the stream and went back into the universe where it had originally came from.
During the leaf's journey,
It would get stuck behind different rocks in the stream and each stream.
Or each rock represented.
An obstacle.
A.
Sudden moment in the Leaf's life where it felt stuck.
Or as if it couldn't continue moving on.
At the time when I had this vision,
I didn't fully understand it.
All I knew was it was from Spirit and it represented me.
I have since written a book called Leap Lessons.
About this vision and it's something I go back to often.
Reminding myself when I feel stuck.
Or an obstacle comes up in my life that If I were to lay back in this dream and trust the universe to carry me,
That I can move around anything.
This meditation brings you through.
Your own current reality,
Any possible obstacles,
Beliefs,
Judgments or hurts.
Anything that you're carrying in your story.
That have kept you stuck.
Were unable to continue trusting the stream of life.
If you want to prepare for the meditation now.
I encourage you to find a quiet location.
Where you can relax.
And feel calm.
I invite you to close your eyes if that feels comfortable for you.
Taking a deep breath,
Allowing the body to naturally relax.
Taking a scan throughout.
Your body from the head to the toe.
Just noticing anywhere that you might be holding tension.
Maybe in your forehead,
In your jaw.
Just allowing the things naturally to drop.
In a position where they feel relaxed,
Your shoulders.
Your hands.
Check in with the stomach and your legs.
Sometimes we spend a lot of time and intense energy without realizing it.
And taking a deep breath.
And releasing it.
And as you do,
Just a deeper relaxation.
Now I would like you to imagine yourself as a single leaf.
Resting on the surface of a peaceful river.
You were laying there floating on this beautiful river.
And the river represents the natural flow of your life.
The river doesn't force.
It doesn't struggle.
It simply moves with ease.
The current gently carries you downstream.
Notice how effortless it feels to float down this river.
You don't have to control where the river goes.
Your only job is to allow yourself to flow with it.
As you continue to drift and flow.
You come upon a large rock in the middle of the river.
The current carries you towards it.
And you become caught behind this rock.
Notice what it feels like.
To be caught and stuck behind this rock.
The river still moving around you.
Yet you remain stuck.
Now ask yourself.
What?
Is this rock representing in my life?
Perhaps it's a fear.
A belief.
A hurt.
From your current life or the past.
Maybe a judgment.
A story that you have carried for years.
Or maybe it's a thought that has been repeating in your mind so many times that has become a part of your identity.
Now I want you to notice something important.
The river going around you is not trying to keep you stuck.
Life continues to flow.
The current is still moving.
The only thing keeping you behind this rock is what you are holding on to.
Imagine that attached Leave.
And the small weight of it.
Holds a large label.
Maybe it's fear.
Control.
I'm not enough.
Guilt.
Shame.
Or whatever else may be coming to you at the moment.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine releasing that weight into the river.
And I watch that feeling.
Or emotion.
Began to sink away.
No longer yours to carry.
The moment you let it go,
Your leaf becomes light again.
The current naturally lifts you up.
You don't have to force your way back around the rock.
You simply flow with the river.
Effortlessly moving past what once held you.
Notice how different it feels when you stop resisting and start trusting the flow.
Silently repeat to yourself.
I release what no longer serves me.
I trust the flow of life.
I am not meant to stay stuck.
As I let go,
I naturally move forward.
Taking one more deep breath.
Feel the freedom that comes with releasing what you've been carrying.
Notice how the stream naturally continues to carry you forward.
Life gives us many opportunities to learn how to trust.
That's the point of being here on Earth.
And each time we come upon one of these rocks,
We get an opportunity to learn to trust the flow of life once again.
When you are ready.
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Knowing that sometimes the greatest movement in our lives doesn't come from pushing harder,
Controlling or forcing.
It comes from letting go.
