Welcome.
This is a meditation designed to help support you as you end your work day and enter into a new role of caregiving for the evening.
You're at the end of your day,
And you're in a safe spot,
Parked,
Calm.
There's no one else in the car,
And you're about to enter a caregiving role that encompasses patience,
Calmness,
Attunement,
Groundedness,
Willingness,
And a sense of love.
This love is sometimes difficult to access when we've been pulled in so many directions during the day.
In this moment,
I want you to close your eyes,
Feel your spine,
And locate your breath.
Your little person is waiting for you.
You are the most important person to them.
In this moment,
You're going to ground to feel your own body so that they can feel complete love,
Availability,
And attunement.
In this moment,
With the eyes closed,
We locate the breath as it enters the nostrils.
Inhale,
The spine lengthens.
Exhale,
Mouth or nose.
Emptying out.
The whole day.
So we inhale up,
Feeling strength in the spine.
And we exhale out,
Emptying out.
The demands of the day,
Emails,
Deadlines,
Demands,
And lists that still need to be done.
No problem.
But in this moment,
They can't be attended to because this is the most important thing right now.
Inhale up,
Tall spine.
Exhale out,
Letting the day go.
Everything that needs to be attended to will get attended to tomorrow.
Inhale up.
Exhale out.
Six more like that.
You're almost ready to go.
Inhale up,
Feeling the strength of your own capacity.
The parent that you want to be,
That you know you can be.
Exhale out,
Shedding the whole day,
Expectations,
Versions of yourself,
Masks.
Exhale all the way out.
Good.
Inhale up,
Tall spine,
Feeling the strength of your capacity to love so deeply.
It might be really easy to excess,
Maybe not.
Exhale,
Let it go.
Good.
Inhale up,
The strength,
The things that support you.
A warm cup of tea,
Good food.
Warm blanket,
Cozy slippers.
Exhale,
Let it go,
Shedding.
The role that you are playing during the day,
Let it go.
Last three.
Inhale up.
Exhale,
Calm.
Last two.
Inhale,
Steady,
Strong,
Capable.
Exhale,
Soft,
Available,
Curious.
Last one,
Last one.
Inhale up.
Open,
Receptive,
Expansive.
There it is.
Exhale,
Soft,
Gentle,
Kind.
As you open your eyes,
Inhale the shoulders up.
If it's available,
A sound.
Any sound.
Inhale up.
Exhale out.
Last two.
Inhale up.
Exhale out.
Inhale up.
Shoulders come up at the same time.
And exhale up.
Bringing the hands up towards the shoulders,
And we flick in visible water.
This is a type of shaking the hands to kind of signal to the body that it's transitioning,
Just like a dog does after jumping off the bed.
Shake,
Shake,
Shake.
And one more inhale.
One more exhale.
And you're ready to go.
Good luck.
