As we begin tonight's practice,
Like always,
There's an invitation to close your eyes.
There's nothing left to do tonight.
Let this be the last thing.
Relaxing your body.
Feel where your body meets the bed.
The weight of your head.
Your shoulders,
Letting go of the day.
Her back.
Your lengths.
All of it heavy.
All of it held.
Breathe in through your nose,
Nice and slowly.
And out through your mouth.
And again in.
.
.
With a long,
Soft exhale.
One more.
And then let your breathing go back to its own rhythm.
Tonight is about rest and not performance.
Gratitude is a practice that reminds the mind.
That you are living in a state of abundance.
And it's best practiced regularly,
So I invite you to come back to this each and every day before bed.
And to begin.
I invite you to bring to mind one thing that went right today.
It doesn't have to be big.
A cup of coffee that was the exact right temperature.
Adore someone held.
A checkmark on your to-do list.
With your eyes closed,
Try to see this in your mind.
Simply notice that this was a moment in your day that felt good.
Allow the body to feel it.
Now,
Bring to mind a person.
Someone who made your life just a little easier this week,
Even slightly.
Bring their face into your mind.
Thank them for being in your life.
And allow yourself to feel the deep appreciation.
That comes from this connection.
Thank you.
And now your own body.
It carried you through the day.
It gave breath all day long without being asked.
And it's breathing for you now.
With thanks.
Give your body permission.
To rest.
There are things from today that did not go well.
You know what they are.
There's no need to solve them in this moment.
But imagine setting each one down beside the bed.
Still there tomorrow.
And tomorrow you'll have more to work with than you do now.
You You are warm.
You are safe.
Nothing is required of you between now and morning.
Simply breathe in.
.
.
And out.
Allowing your body to relax.
And just like that,
You have practiced gratitude for the day.
And with that.
.
.
I wish you a good night.
