Welcome to this guided visualization called The Air Balloon.
My name is Shayan and I will be guiding you through this journey to help release any sources of stress you're feeling right now.
Before we begin,
I recommend connecting headphones.
Find a comfortable place,
Either sitting or lying down,
Where you won't be disturbed.
Once in position,
We'll start by taking five slow deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
With each exhale,
Allow yourself to release any tension you're holding in the body.
We'll begin breathing now.
Now that you're settled in,
We'll begin the journey.
You stand in an open field,
Watching as the sun slowly rises over the silent mountains.
A soft warm glow spreads across the landscape,
Gently stirring the sleeping flowers awake.
You feel the sunlight touch your skin and instinctively you loosen your jacket,
Letting the warmth settle on your face and shoulders.
Closing your eyes,
You smile up at the sun,
Welcoming the start of a new day filled with endless possibilities.
Take a moment to feel the sun on your face in the awakening landscape.
You release a deep sigh,
Feeling the weight of the stress you've been carrying.
In this quiet moment,
You sense a glimmer of hope and relief from the pressures of daily life,
Knowing an adventure awaits you.
As you slowly open your eyes,
You remember why you're here.
Before you,
The silhouette of a grand air balloon begins to form,
Each detail coming into focus as your eyes adjust.
A gentle thrill of excitement stirs within you,
And you find yourself admiring the towering beauty of this majestic balloon,
Ready to lift you towards freedom.
What details do you notice on the air balloon?
You approach the balloon.
Gently,
You hoist yourself into the basket,
Your heart beating for the journey ahead.
Gripping the burner's lever,
You pull it down,
Igniting a powerful flame that roars to life.
Filling the balloon with warmth and energy.
Gradually,
You feel the ground slipping away as the balloon begins to lift,
Its gentle momentum carrying you upwards.
However,
You quickly notice that the ascent begins to slow.
A sense of curiosity stirs within you as you wonder what could be holding the balloon down.
Glancing around the basket,
You see nothing out of the ordinary.
Leaning over the edge,
You notice three large sandbags attached to the basket.
Each one stands out with its own distinct colour and size.
And they all have a different label.
A burden of stress you've been carrying.
What size and colour are each sandbag?
What do the labels say?
You pause,
A slight hesitation filling your mind.
Am I really ready to let go of these burdens?
They feel so intertwined with the balloon,
With who you are,
Almost like they've become a part of you.
You turn to the first sandbag,
Positioning yourself above its holding lever.
You place your hands on it,
Gazing down at the weight that symbolises the weight of the balloon.
A specific stress you've been carrying.
You close your eyes for a moment and focus inward.
Where does this burden live in my body,
You wonder.
Taking slow,
Deep breaths,
You sense where it lingers,
Noticing the tension it has created within you.
With a determined grip,
You pull the lever down and feel a sudden release as the sandbag drops.
An immediate sense of relief washes over you,
The tension in your body softening as the weight falls away.
You feel a lightness spreading within,
As the balloon's spirit lifts,
Ascending a little higher.
Take a moment to feel what it's like to release this burden of stress.
Notice the space and freedom it brings within you.
Feeling a newfound lightness,
You turn your attention to the second sandbag of stress.
You reflect on how this bag is also keeping you from soaring.
With a deep sense of resolve,
You decide it's time to let go of this burden as well.
You grasp the lever firmly once more.
Taking a deep breath,
You prepare yourself for the release.
With determination,
You pull the lever down,
Watching as the second sandbag of stress drops away,
Disappearing into the distance below.
The balloon ascends once again,
Reaching even greater heights,
And you feel an exhilarating rush of freedom.
With this release,
Your chest and lungs expand,
Filling with the fresh air of possibility.
Pause for a moment to notice what it feels like to release the second source of stress.
Where do you notice the release in your body?
The sun has fully risen over the mountains now,
Casting a golden,
Enchanting light that fills the sky and dances across the land.
You squint slightly as the balloon continues its graceful ascent,
Your heart growing lighter with each passing moment.
Yet,
You know there's one final task to complete.
With a sense of purpose,
You move towards the last lever,
Feeling the lightness already within you.
From the stress,
You've let go.
There's an expansive feeling in your chest,
A spaciousness that's new and welcome.
A gentle smile plays on your lips as you glance at the final sandbag of stress,
The last anchor holding you down.
You pause and check in with yourself.
Are you truly ready to release this last burden?
Taking one final deep breath,
You reach for the lever and with a swift,
Confident pull,
Release the last sandbag.
You watch it drop away,
Growing stronger.
Smaller and smaller until it disappears entirely.
An overwhelming sense of relief washes over you as you reflect.
Who thought releasing stress could be this easy?
The burner roars to life,
Filling the air with warmth as the balloon surges higher,
Now gliding with ease and purpose.
You brush past soft candyfloss clouds,
Feeling their gentle mist upon your skin.
Looking down,
The landscape stretches out beneath you like a lush,
Green tapestry,
A beautiful patchwork of fields,
Rivers and valleys.
Take a moment to soak in the beauty,
The serenity of the skies,
The boundless views and the sense of peace that fills you.
You marvel at the miniature world below,
Feeling both grounded and uplifted,
Connected to your home planet from a new perspective.
As the balloon gently begins to slow,
You check the altitude on your watch and it dawns on you.
It's time.
With a steadying breath,
You mount the top edge of the basket,
Carefully finding your balance as you lean over.
A rush of anticipation tingles through your body as you hover at the edge.
For a brief,
Eternal moment,
Everything around you falls silent.
You close your eyes,
Take one last deep breath and let go.
The wind immediately cradles you,
Guiding your descent as you expand your limbs,
Surrendering completely to the freefall.
You've never felt so alive,
So weightless,
So free.
Every remaining hint of stress is gently swept away,
Massaged and carried off by the rushing wind around you,
Leaving only pure,
Unburdened freedom.
Allow yourself to fully experience this sense of liberation in freefall.
As the ground begins to draw nearer,
You calmly reach for the cord at your side and pull it.
Your parachute deploys above you,
Slowing your descent as you slowly descend.
You feel a gentle lift.
Looking up,
You admire the parachute's design,
Noticing the vibrant colours that reflect your spirit and journey.
Written across the canopy,
You see a message,
An affirmation,
Just for you.
What design covers your parachute?
What does the message say,
And how does it resonate within you?
The gentle cradle of the harness,
Swaying you back and forth,
Brings a wave of nostalgia,
A reminder of a time when life was simpler,
Unburdened,
Free.
By the complexities of adulthood.
As the ground rushes up to meet you,
You pick a landing spot in a soft,
Open field.
With calm focus,
You guide your descent gracefully,
Letting the momentum carry you forward before you come to a stop.
The parachute settles behind you onto the earth,
And you feel a sense of grounding as your feet connect with the grass.
Lying down,
You stretch out on the lush field,
Feeling each blade and petal of the wildflowers softly cushioning your body.
The warmth of the sun is now fully upon you,
Radiating from above,
Washing over you.
From the corner of your eye,
You catch a glimpse of the air balloon,
Drifting over the mountains and disappearing behind a soft,
Misty cloud.
Take a moment to savour the relaxation from completing this journey.
Where do you notice lightness in your body?
As you lie there,
You wrap your arms gently around yourself,
Embracing the newfound peace within.
You reflect for a moment and say out loud,
What was I so stressed about in the first place?
Breathe deeply and relish in the calm that now resides within you.
With your eyes still closed,
Slowly start to come back into your surroundings.
Notice what feels different in your body.
Congratulations,
You have completed your air balloon journey.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes and take your time to journal and draw what you have discovered.
