Emotional healing.
Sleep meditation by Rhonda Jones.
Begin by finding a comfortable position in your bed.
Allow your body to settle into the soft support beneath you.
Close your eyes gently.
And let the day's cares begin to drift away.
This emotional healing journey.
Is designed to guide you into a deep healing sleep.
Inviting God's comforting presence.
To soothe your heart.
Mend your emotions and restore your spirit as you rest.
As you breathe in slowly through your nose feel a gentle wave of God's peace rising within you as you exhale.
Imagine every wound worry.
And heavy thought.
Blowing out of you.
Leaving behind only calm.
And confidence in his loving care.
Know that tonight as you dripped off.
The same Jesus.
Who healed the blind.
The Bleeding Woman and the paralyzed man is here with you ready to bring his healing light into every part of your being Allow your mind to soften.
And settle on his promise.
Come to me.
All who are weary.
And I will give you rest Let that rest begin now.
Carrying you gently.
Into relaxation.
Continue to breathe naturally.
Noticing the stillness in each moment.
And the quiet space between your thoughts be still in God's presence.
Take another deep breath in.
And exhale.
Letting every muscle soften and release.
God's living,
Cleansing,
And purifying water.
In John 7 38,
Jesus said,
The one who believes in me.
From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.
Hebrews 10 22 invites us,
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart.
Having our hearts sprinkled.
To cleanse us from a guilty conscience.
And our bodies washed with pure water.
Now with your inner eyes,
Picture yourself standing at the bank of a spring.
Gazing at.
A cascading waterfall.
Feel the cool mist as it kisses your skin.
Observe the water tumbling over the rocks.
Into a clear pool below.
God's creation in its perfect,
Refreshing beauty.
Imagine the warm sand beneath your feet.
And gently dip one toe into the spring.
And feel the pure water's cool embrace.
Gradually we deeper.
Noticing the tiny pebbles underfoot.
And the grounding sensation they bring.
With every step.
Sense Christ's love supporting you.
You are filled with profound inner peace.
When you stand beneath the waterfall.
Feel its warmth as it pours over your head and shoulders bringing instant renewal.
Allow that holy water to permeate every cell.
Cleansing and purifying you from within.
Reflect on 2 Corinthians 7.
Which calls us to purify ourselves.
From everything that contaminates body and spirit.
Breathe in quietly and affirm.
Lord,
Cleanse me,
And I will be cleansed.
Breathe out and declare.
Lord,
Purify me.
And I will be purer than snow.
Notice the ship within you.
As transformation takes root.
Feeling refreshed and renewed.
Step out of the spring onto the soft bank.
Find a comfortable spot to sit.
And bring your attention back to your breath.
Notice the rise and fall of each inhale.
And exhale.
As you prepare to move into the next phase.
Of your emotional healing James 515 reminds us.
Therefore.
Confess your sins to one another.
And pray for one another.
That you may be healed.
Confession opens our hearts to God's unconditional love and grace.
Cleansing us and restoring wholeness.
Shame,
Guilt,
And unforgiveness.
Weigh heavily on our spirits.
So let them go now.
Jesus taught that.
With the measure you use,
It will be measured back to you.
Holding on to past hurts closes our heart Vergubnis dissolves barriers.
And invites God's peace and joy.
Take a moment to allow God to reveal anyone or any situation.
You need to forgive.
Remember.
Forgiveness doesn't erase the wrong.
But releases your resentment.
True forgiveness sets you free.
Restoring your power.
And removing victimhood.
Pause now.
And if needed.
Forgive as an act of faith.
Even if your heart feels closed.
Acknowledge your own role in any unintended harm.
Nothing happens in a vacuum.
First,
Bring to mind someone.
Who has hurt or offended you.
Visualize them gently.
And say in your heart I release all resentment towards you for and then fill in the blank.
Now ask God to bless them.
Sending his love and light.
To heal their hurt pray silently.
Father,
Cleanse my heart of bitterness.
And anger towards this person.
Help me see them through eyes of compassion.
Take a deep breath in.
And exhale.
Letting go of any lingering attachments.
Repeat as needed.
Until you feel lighter next bring to mind someone you have hurt or disappointed.
Even yourself.
Visualize them before you and say in your heart Please forgive me and release any resentment towards me.
4.
And fill in the blank.
Then imagine God's love healing every wound.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Releasing any need to control the outcome You bled.
You may choose to make amends later.
Trusting God's timing without expectation.
So often,
True peace comes simply by changing our focus.
As you continue to breathe softly.
Invite God into your mind with thoughts of gratitude,
Hope,
And joy.
Now that your heart and mind.
Have been refreshed by confession.
And forgiveness.
Let us move into the next step of casting every care on Him.
As you continue to breathe slowly and deeply.
Allow your body to settle.
Even more deeply into your bed letting go of any lingering tension.
What burden or struggle are you carrying tonight?
God urges us not to worry but to cast every care upon Him because He cares for us.
Worry is the opposite of faith.
In a recent Jesus Calling reflection,
We read,
You can meditate on God's divine and loving presence.
Or you can meditate on your problems.
It's truly a choice.
When we focus on our fears,
They grow.
Just as Job lamented.
The thing I feared came upon me.
That is why scripture teaches us.
To dwell on what is lovely.
Pure and praiseworthy.
Right now,
Bring to mind whatever weighs heaviest on you.
Notice each shape or color in your imagination Jesus said in Matthew 15 13 Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.
And in John 15 1 he declared,
I am the true I.
And my father is the gardener.
Every branch that does not bear fruit,
He removes.
And every branch that does bear fruit.
He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Understand that when we uproot what is dead or harmful.
The only thing left is life.
Instead of dwelling on your current troubles.
As Father God now.
For insight into deeper roots of this struggle.
Perhaps seeded long ago or nourished by recent events.
Even if no clear answer comes.
Simply notice any emotions.
That arise.
Fear,
Shame,
Guilt.
Disappointment or loneliness.
Allow these feelings to surface in your body.
Where do you sense tension or heaviness?
Breathe gently into that area.
And feel it soften with each exhale.
Now silently affirm.
I am ready to uncover and uproot the roots of and fill in the blanks.
In your imagination.
See yourself standing in a garden of your own design.
Your life's personal landscape.
Filled with memories,
Gifts,
And dreams,
But also with weeds of pain and old hurts.
Take a moment to look around.
Notice which weeds cry out to be removed.
Disappointment,
Anger,
Anxiety,
Grief.
Or perhaps hopelessness.
When you are ready.
Begin to walk through this garden.
With your inner eyes.
Reach down and pull each unwanted weed from its roots.
As you name it.
Anxiety killed.
Beer.
Feel where it lives in your body.
Pause to breathe into that spot.
Releasing any tightness.
Place each uprooted weed into the basket you carry.
Some roots will come up easily.
Others may require more effort.
Give yourself permission to go slowly.
Honoring each part of your journey.
Ephesians 3.
17 reminds us.
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
Being rooted and grounded in love.
Trust that he is with you.
As you clear this ground.
When your basket is full,
Notice a tall,
Angelic presence beside you.
Watch as the angel lifts the basket and flies away.
Carrying every weed and root to Father God.
Where he will transform it.
By His glorious love and light.
As you watch them depart.
Bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Take three gentle breaths.
Inhale God's healing presence.
Exhale any lingering pain Inhale his peace.
Exhale heaviness.
Know that every care has been cast upon him.
And he is fateful to bring restoration.
Throughout each coming day,
Remember that you can return to this garden.
And place any new roots in your basket,
Releasing them into God's hands.
Now that you have cast every burden into your heavenly father's hands and watch the angel carry them away.
Let your body sink even more deeply.
Into the comfort of your bed.
Feel the steady rise and fall of your breath and allow your mind to drip gently.
Into this final phase of Thanksgiving,
Healing and divine rest.
1 Thessalonians 5.
18 declares Give thanks in all circumstances.
For this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
A grateful heart opens the door to greater blessings.
And helps us cherish even the simplest joys.
A cozy bed of friendly smile.
A moment of peace Turn your attention now to the past 24 hours.
Recall every small mercy and kindness.
A warm cup of tea.
A gentle breeze,
A word of encouragement for each blessing that comes to mind.
Silently say Thank you,
Lord.
And then invite another memory of grace.
Remember that by his stripes we are healed.
Tonight bring awareness to any part of your body or heart that still needs healing.
Perhaps tension in your shoulders,
A weary mind,
Or an anxious emotion.
Notice its color,
Its texture,
Its weight.
As you inhale.
Imagine drawing in God's healing light.
Hold that breath for a moment.
Affirming Father,
Fill me now with your divine love and healing presence.
As you exhale.
Release all attachment to pain or anxiety,
Declaring I release the sickness and dis-ease.
See the healing light concentrate in that area,
Penetrating every cell.
Breathe in again.
Affirm.
By Jesus' stripes I am healed.
Breathe out,
By Jesus' love,
I am made whole.
Repeat until you feel warmth and peace unfolding within you.
Now think of someone you love who needs healing.
Body,
Mind,
Or spirit.
Visualize them both.
In the same healing light.
Flowing from your heart to theirs.
Inhale and say By Jesus' stripes,
You are healed.
Exhale.
By Jesus' love,
You are made whole.
Much of our suffering comes from identifying too closely with our ego.
Our likes,
Dislikes,
Judgments,
And fears.
Jesus never came to judge us but to set us free.
Tonight.
Choose to let go.
Of every harsh judgment.
Every critical thought.
Silently affirm as you breathe in.
I and the Father are one.
Breathe out.
I decrease and allow God to increase.
Inhale.
I judge nothing that occurs.
Exhale.
I owe no one anything.
But to love them.
Inhale.
It is not my battle.
Exhale,
I flow with God and light.
Even as you drift towards sleep.
You remain a divine being with purpose.
Think of one or two things you'd like to accomplish tomorrow.
Whether it's a project an attitude of faith or a kind act.
Silently declare.
Tomorrow I intend to.
And Bill in the play.
See yourself at the day's end,
Smiling with gratitude.
For what you've achieved in partnership.
With God's strength.
Feel the gentle satisfaction of a day lived in his presence.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit.
Our ever-present comforter.
To hear his gentle promptings.
We must cultivate quiet within.
For the next few breaths,
Simply rest in God's presence.
If your mind wanders Return to the rhythm of your inhalations and exhalations Softly repeat with each inhale.
I am in Christ.
And with each exhale.
Christ is in me.
I am in Christ.
Christ is in me.
Allow his peace to deepen until your eyelids grow heavy.
And your thoughts grow still.
You As you surrender to sleep,
Know that God's love surrounds you.
His Spirit guides you.
And his healing power works within you throughout the night Rest now,
Beloved child of God.
And awaken refreshed.
In body,
Mind and spirit.
May God bless you.
Good night.
And amen
